Village Roadshow Limited thinks that you would be willing to pay much more for your movie than you do today

Exactly my point of view! I enjoy watching my movies with my family at home (when including kids of course depending on the movie rating...).

I don't go to the movies. I think the last time I have been at the movies was about 1978. It was "Krieg der Sterne" aka Star Wars - the premiere in Germany...

On the otherhand I probably have only been to the movies maybe 5 or 6 times during the past 20 years.

I used to enjoy going when the movies were better, and the theatres weren't multiple theatres in a single architectural monstrosity.

It used to be a real night out going to a theatre that could sit more than just a couple of hundred people.  When I saw Lawrence of Arabia downtown Toronto, when it first came out, there probably would have been at least a thousand in the audience.  Boy, that was something.

Anyhow, those days are gone.

I would be willing to pay more at a bigger theatre playing better movies.  My purchasing of DVDs is also dwindling as the studios aren't producing what I consider to be good flicks any longer, and they aren't bringing the old ones out quickly enough.  I am resorting to getting British films, as well as British TV DVDs, and the odd US TV DVD.

All in all, the studios should be ashamed of the crap they are producing now.  Rant is over.  Sorry.

I cant believe I'm the only person to pick the 4th option.  I thought there'd be at least one other smart-ass 

I'd only pay it if some drinks and food were included, and it was a decent experience.  My local Cineworld is pants; speakers rattle, levels are always wrong as are the video settings.  And if you use a 'VIP' box there is a glass screen on the front of the box which always has marks all over it    But alas its the only one for miles    except the one in my home of course

I might be willing to pay that for certain movies.  The biggest reason:  No teenage kids are going to pay that much and no parent is going to pay that much to bring their younger kids.  That right there is worth the price of admission.
