| Posted: | | | | Checking the ebay sites for merchants.. Most of the suppliers of DVD's are companies that sell DVD's via their web sites and Ebay.., Look one up thru eBay.. here is a list of UK stores.. contact the stores indivdually and ask if they will sell apart from eBay and still use PayPal... If you use PayPal you will be protected against no delivery .. Plus you won't pay any ebay services charges.. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Beware of EBay. Over the years we have seen numerous instances of users getting burned by pirates selling illegal DVDs through EBay, so be very careful. Hopefully, forewarned is forearmed.

Skip I concur with Skip.., But if you use your smarts it is pretty easy to get authorized legal product.. NOT all sellers on Ebay are pirate.. Signs to look for are: No Mention of - "Genuine authorized- Not Bootlegs" Prices that are far to good for New DVD's on 'Buy it Now' .. (Any Disney product under $25 USD) Senders address from Malaysia.. just these three alone are tips... Other area to check is the FB.. If there notes about counterfeits in this feedback,, then Buyer Aware again. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. All of them had complaints filed against the sellers in one case to the FBI. There are some honest sellers but very few in my opinion. I have also found that I can get my DVD's cheaper from other sources than the "legitimate" sellers on Ebay. It seems if they are honest and selling genuine product they feel it is worth three times the price. However, good luck in all of your purchasing experiences. |

| Posted: | | | | FWIW, whilst I agree there are plenty of pirate sellers on Ebay I've managed to pick up quite a few DVDs from there that were unavailable elsewhere and every single one was legit... but it certainly pays to scrutinise the seller! | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

Lord Of The Sith is right too: the prices by legitimate sellers on eBay are not real bargains, most times. For those who are interested in used and not-so-expensive new DVDs, also give a shot at Play's Playtrade and at Amazon UK Marketplace, where you can find both merchants and individuals selling their DVDs (you'll see "Available New & Used from..." when you browse Play's or Amazon's listings). I've bought and sold there, and it seems to me there are no pirates there. | | | -- Enry | | | Last edited: by White Pongo, Jr. |

I've bought and sold there, and it seems to me there are no pirates there. I buy there often (Amazon) and the price are certainly good, never add a problem (just a different edition one time). It's easy to see who are the best seller and to know from wich one to buy (90% of my purchase there is from one seller). I use mostly the Canadian branch (international shipping is very costly on marketplace), but the time that I've use the other branch (US, UK, Ger and France) I was satisfied too. Never bought on e-bay, but marketplace is as good and the risk to get a bootleg are zero. | | | Last edited: by Jimmy S |

| Posted: | | | | I don't do eBay, or PayPal either, but, I know many people who have dealt with them with success. I think most of the eBay sellers (at least the eBay dealers) must be reputable -- or they'd have been weeded out long ago. Still, Skip and the others are right: forewarned is forearmed... ...and forearmed is half octopus. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole) Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. | Posted: | | | | I did never run into any problems buying on eBay both from commercial and private sellers. No bootlegs, no missing shipments. But I do review any seller carefully before bidding on an auction or making a purchase. | | | Matthias |
