| Posted: | | | | I checked on my rebate status and it shows that I should have it in my bank on Friday. Been looking to upgrade to Blu, but wonder what other people thought I should do. | | | We're on a mission from God.

| Posted: | | | | Chose "pay other bills". The main reason herefor is, that Blu-Ray-Players are by far too expensive at the moment and will most likely get cheaper within the next 6 months. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Well, the government of course wants you to spend it. I was originally just going to stick mine in the bank and leave it there. But then my kid had a fender-bender (literally) with our car so there went $500 and then a week later we got a nail in one of the tires and with it being an all wheel drive vehicle and 3 years old that meant a new set of 4 tires so there was $600. That left us with $100 of our rebate so tonight I just said the hell with it and took my wife to dinner. Dinner was pretty good. | | | "Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men" - Douglas Bader "A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools." - Douglas Adams |

| Posted: | | | | I'm not sure if it makes a lot of sense to buy a Blu player that isn't 2.0 compatible and those aren't going to come cheap. I guess there's always a PS3. Personally, I'm banking mine for the time being. I have an uneasy feeling that I'm going to be needing it soon enough for important stuff rather than "want" stuff. |

I really don't care for the online content on DVD's. The one's I did check out didn't have anything interesting to offer. I know the possibillities of Blu-Ray are much higher, but I still don't care for all the online stuff. I guess most of it will be marketing crap anyway. So, if you are like me, go out and buy a profile 1.1 player | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

So, if you are like me, go out and buy a profile 1.1 player I'm of the same opinion. Profile 1.1 is good enough for me. Sure, it'd be handy when grabbing a firmware update to do it all on the player itself, but I've no interest in anything offered with an internet capability on my disk player. I'm quite happy with my Panasonic DMP-BD30. I've done 1 firmware update so far and it was no real bother. |
