One of the biggest selling points is that it is an 'American beer'. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | An American beer? Seriously? I prefer mine darker and European but have never minded Shiner Bock, or any of the Shiner beers. (Now that i read the FAQ they may not be available in Ireland...but the FAQ has some entertainment value.) | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! | | | Last edited: by tweeter |

| Posted: | | | | Might I suggest trying the all American (and quite possibly local) micro-brews? Every city I've ever lived in has had 'em, so I guess they're everywhere... | | | Watching the world, one DVD at a time... |

| Posted: | | | | Shiner Bock is very close to being the most perfect beer ever. Not dark, not heavy. Tasty. Enhances anything which tastes good with a beer.
The only American beer that stands up to and surpasses Shiner Bock (in my humbly humble opinion) is Anchor Steam. Which is an amazing beer with wonderful character.
I will drink either, any time. Both set world standards of high quality, remarkable taste, and simple pleasure. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

| Posted: | | | | Love it! My family has a long association with Guinness; focussing primarily on it's consumption. However a distant relative tragically suffered a fatal accident by falling into a vat of Guinness. Apparently it took him several hours to drown........ .......as he had to get out several times to go to the bathroom! | | | Chris |

All except one finnish beer brands have been sold to big European companies. All sell their beer as "finnish", eventhough none except one arent. People forget all too easily to be honest. I personally try to support local companys. Though must say i often find myself buying some cheap European brands. US beer here is hard to find and when you do its expensive. e.g. Budweiser is like 5€/l, when you can get the regular ones for as low as 2,50€/l. With me for beers its quantity over quality | | | Last edited: by whispering |
