I think AFI is running out of Ideas-(categories)  since 1998 's 100 Years 100 Films..
Last night's telecast again affirms my belief that I do indeed have at least most of the titles..
Last nights Titles I don't have as of yet are:
Thief of Baghdad/White Heat/Scarface/Public Enemy/Little Caesar/Red River/Pride of the Yankees/Hoosiers/Breaking Away/Jerry McGuire/Third Man/Usual Suspects/Roman Holiday/Kramer Vs. Kramer/The Verdict/Few Good Men/Witness for the Prosecution/Anatomy of a Murder/Cry in the Dark/Judgement at Nuremberg/Reds ..

Interesting to see that 16 of there telecast  titles have never made their lists before..  Plus interesting to see that No ADVENTURE/ WAR/HORROR/  and only 'Romantic COMEDY' were a genre ( no Dr. strangelove  or Mad Mad World here )..          ..,  and I see I have some new titles  to add to my wish list ...  List available here    ..
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

i guess their target audience likes mystery instead of horror/thriller and romantic comedies instead of regular comedies

I'm certainly not a part of the target audience for the American Films Institute, only 2 films on the main page are considerate good by me. To ask your question : I don't care since they have no respect for my genre of film. But I'm not really surprise by this fact

Hmmm........ I have them all.

I have to say that each film they chose is a great film. I don't necessarily agree with all their choices or their order but they are great films.
