The Dark Knight posts still another best-ever. Media By Numbers is reporting that Warner Bros' latest Batman installment crossing the $500 million domestic gross milestone today after only 45 days in release. It's already the second-highest grossing pic of all time behind only the $600.8 million domestic haul of Titanic which took 91 days to pass $500M.

I love Titanic, and I've seen it more times than mos films, but I will never understand how it was quite so attractive to the masses...

... and there was a huge campaign to get people to see it again and again just to get the top spot

for Xmas of 1997 the special effects for Titanic was, at that time,, a major accomplishment., ..Plus the fact, that it was a romantic story and  really appealed to younger girls who, went over and over again to see 'Jack' ..  Plus this was well before James Cameron announced to the World that he was 'King of the World''  ( gag..)  . ... and as unpopular as Celine is these days 10 years later., the Song 'My heart will Go On'' , was a big, big hit. and,, on top of all this,,  The story could have been  or might have been or in most part was Truefact ., ( the romantic tale was frosting on the cake.. )  So Yes I can see how Titanic made over $600M ...
Now a guy in a rubber suit., this whole story this past summer with the success of that film,, You have to somehow figure: what this film would have done ,(maybe only $300M?)  if Ledger was still alive today.. ?  I think his fans are paying homage to this late star and his tremendous final film.  As an actor of his talent, He could have become the Next BIG Star ..
and  I feel in some ways that Health Ledger is today's'.. James Dean ..
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.
