I'm not sure how to answer this poll. I still buy more regular DVDs than Blu-rays. I don't even buy all new releases on Blu-ray because sometimes I don't feel the movie is worth the extra price.

I would buy everything on Blu-ray if it was available and cheaper (same price as DVD), but it's not. I don't see that change anytime soon.

I haven't bought any blu-ray at all. I'm perfectly happy with the current dvd and even if the quality is better with a BR I don't see the point. With the genre of movie that I buy a better picture is not necessary better, the cleaning remove a lot of the charm.

As of right now I won't buy into Blu untill equipment and media prices come down. DVD is still the best bang for the buck.

I don't see any incentive to go Blu. I'm perfectly with the quality DVD gives, and I see absolutely no reason to pay a premium to see every face defect of every actor.

I'm still buying just DVDs and have not invested in Blu. Maybe if I get a HDTV by the end of the year I'll go Blu but I'm pretty sure, with the prices out there for media DVD will still be first preference for me.

I'm quite happy with DVDs at the moment. I'm very satisfied with the quality on my 32" Flatscreen. I don't think that I will see a big improvement with BluRay.

Basically I'm collecting tv series and I did not see very much of them on Blu! Even when available I could never afford to replace my DVd's with BluRay

That describes me pretty well, too. I have bought a few favorite movies on blu that I already owned on DVD, like Terminator, T2 and Die Hard. On my 40" Sony LCD the difference in PQ between a good DVD (upscaled) and Blu-Ray is not that exceptional. I often find a more drastic difference in the audio than in the video.

But given the limited selection of Blu-Ray releases, I'll probably keep buying DVDs for a long time.

I project my movies on a 106" screen (1080p HD), so there's a big difference when it comes to larger screens.

I still buy a lot of DVD. But I do not buy a movie on DVD, if it's available on Blu-ray. I will do some double-dips, but only selected movies, as I rarely watch my movies more than once.

I don't own a bluray yet, so I buy normal DVD's.
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

I don't really fit any of those categories exactly.  With new movies (movies I don't already own), I'm buying Blu-ray ONLY.  If something comes out like The Mist that I really, really want, but it's DVD only, I spend that money on some other movies that is on Blu-ray and wait (and it paid off with The Mist )  If I can't find anything I want on Blu-ray, I hold on to my money, because there's a lot on the way I do want.

If I already have the movie on DVD, I don't re-buy it on Blu-ray.  I spend that money on some other Blu-ray movie I want.  There have been a few exceptions, but for the most part, that's my rule.  And out of my entire DVD collection, I can only think of a few that I will pick up on Blu-ray as soon as they're available.  So I have no plans to replace the majority of my DVDs.

But I am still buying TV on DVD.  Unless there's a Blu-ray available, I'll get the DVD.  But even that is a policy that will be changing soon as more and more TV sets are coming out on Blu-ray.

I buy DVDs, HD DVDs and Blu-rays. I don't sell DVDs when I upgrade since I don't have HD equipment in all of the places where I have DVD players. I continue to buy more DVDs than Blu-ray since Blu-ray releases are skewed toward current action movies.

Actually I only buy blu-rays of good movies...tv series and movies I'm sure aren't up to blu-ray standards I still buy (cheap). Like Bruce Lee's Big Boss...my latest 5.99 bin purchase.

My answer is "None of the above."

I refuse to buy Blu-rays unless they are on sale.  Yes, the picture quality is good, but it is not twice the price good.

I still buy DVDs and when the Blu-ray goes on sale, if it is a movie I want on Blu-ray, I will get it and give the DVD to one of my kids.

I buy mostly newer movies on Blu-Ray, or older movies, if I didn't purchase them on DVD and the price isn't too expensive.

I bought most of my BR's in Buy 2 Get 3 formula. I don't mind paying 20€ for a movie, but I do mind paying 30€.

My habits are all over the place...

I am uprading some of my favorite films to Blu Ray; provided the reviews I read say that the image is better than previous DVDs.

New stuff gets purchased on Blu Ray, if it's a film that I know and like or expect to be of better quality on Blu Ray. Films where the quality of the transfer is secondary I will still buy on DVD.

Only TV Series I am currently considering to get on Blu Ray is the Termionator Chronicles...
