GIT YER PVR's ready.........!! This Sunday and MONDAY (Sept 7/8). ..
TCM is running both Under the YUM YUM Tree  and... GOOD NEIGHBOR SAM !!.
Both unreleased,, never seen (on the shiny surface both botched VHS transfers from the 80's from  Goodtimes Video in LP mode..        )

I'm hoping and praying that Columbia Studios have finally found and fixed up  both these 1963 Jack Lemmon Classics, and  in widescreen .

Too bad that TCM doesn't broadcast in HiDef .. BUT maybe the Dvd's are furthur up the road ready to be sold..    ??
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Thanks for the heads up.  Jack Lemmon is awesome.

I thought I read somewhere that he had a low opinion of them and tried to forget them. Maybe, that is why they have languished in obscurity.  Can't remember seeing them myself though. Let us know what you think. I will probably pass.

One of these two films (Yum Yum, as I recall) has Lemmon making the first known recorded utterance of "Have a nice day."

Gotta be a terrible film.
If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I've been dyin' to pick these up, especially Good Neighbor Sam Sadly, I don't have a DVR at the moment, so I'll have to cross my fingers that these airings result in an appearance on usenet.

Sometimes I do wish I got broadcast TV. As I recall, reviewers at IMDB generally recoil in horror at Under the Yum Yum Tree, but I loved it. Maybe an immature sexist Hefneroid daydream, but....

I watched it last night and enjoyed it very much.

YUM YUM tree looked good in letterbox and a nice clean print..  Too Bad for Good Neighbor Sam  though,. It did look better than the green and purple  Goodtimes Video  BUT  it was  P/S..,,  ..

supposed to be panavsion 2:35.1  but wasn't ....

edit:  plus there was a running time of 135 seconds for a  major broadcast frozen freezeframe at the 75 mn mark...

somebody somewhere does not want this to be outthere ...

Sorry Cliff, missed the reference: "have a nice day" (?)
