| Posted: | | | | The Motion Picture Association of America adopted a film-rating system. Also, according to their Website, each week law enforcement around the world catches movie thieves red-handed. Since last year, authorities have seized over 81,000,000 counterfeit DVD's. Quoted from Answers.com: "In some jurisdictions a rating may impose on movie theaters the legal obligation of refusing the entrance of children or minors to the movie. Furthermore, where movie theaters do not have this legal obligation, they may enforce restrictions on their own. Ratings are often given in lieu of censorship. There is often debate as to the usefulness, strictness and enforcement of such systems. People may like content with a high rating. This includes children who may like to see content considered unsuitable for them (forbidden fruit phenomenon)." | | | Mike |

Where are you reading that they're blank? Quoting from CadetStimpy's post "81,000,000 counterfeit DVD's." These were illegal copies not blank discs waiting for illegal copies to be put onto. |
