Guess I need to Get Smarter! |

| | Posted: | | | | On Friday I finally convinced "She who must be obeyed" to let me order the Get Smart Complete series from Time/Life. And of course when I went to Best But to buy the new release Futurama: Bender's Game on Tuesday, I found the set on sale for $109!  Did I miss a mention of this in the forums in the last few weeks. I was working as a roofer since I had developed Shingles, and have not been on the boards as much as I usually am Does anyone know if this set has all the features as the T/L set? (I could not look as I was in pain from the glare I was getting from "SWMBO'd"!  Guess I missed my chance to save $50 by "This Much"!  Bobb | | | | Do Cheshire Cats drink evaporated milk? |

| | Posted: | | | | I don't know about the complete series box set, but I bought the first season a couple of weeks ago. It was the same as the Time Life version except that it didn't include a 5th disc with extras. It just had the 4 discs with the programs on it.
I haven't read anything about the new set (and I'm a bit miffed that it came out within months of the first season -- since if I'd known I'd have waited and bought the whole series instead), but if the first season is any example, the new set might not have the extra features that were on the Time Life DVDs. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole)

| | Posted: | | | | What I've been able to find online is that the Time Life version is on 25 discs -- and so is the HBO version. I would have thought that unless HBO went to the trouble and expense of rearranging the episode on the discs that their version would be the same as the Time Life. I didn't see anything about the length of the extras, so my original assumption may be wrong.
I plan to do some shopping at BB tonight, so I'll find out soon (if they have set in stock). The price is too good to not pick the set up even though I already have Season 1. | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole)

How should this be profiled? The Time Life boxes had a UPC for each season and a separate one for the coplete season.
The HBO box only has one UPC -- the one for the box. The covers for each season in the big box are the same as the ones onlne except that there are no UPC codes on the covers.
So, I guess what I will do (in fact already did) is download all the child profiles using the UPC shown online for the season-level proflies, the disc id for the disc-level profiles, and the newer UPC for the overall box set (883828-028504). All of the data seems to be the same except for the studios (No mention of Time Life), and release date for the box set (11/04/08). I'm not sure it's worth trying to scan the season covers so my database won't show any UPCs (since the covers look like they would be a tough scans) and the ones online look pretty good (except for the UPCs). | | | Another Ken (not Ken Cole)
