| Posted: | | | | I guess we have all had the problem of secuirty devices damaging the DVD package when you try to take them off. At least one supplier appears to have found a solution, more or less. I just bought a TV series in a digipak, with print all over the package. The security device (one of the flat square type) had therefore been glued on the tray underneath the DVD. However some (actually a lot) of the glue has leaked out from under the edges. Or maybe it was squeezed out, as one of the other discs actually has a hairline crack near the centre from being wedged too tightly on the little hub. Anyway, the DVD is unreadable. What's next? Glueing the devices directly on the mirror side of the DVD? Stupid thing is that I bought this online, so what's the use of a security device anyway? PS. Does anybody know of a safe solvent to use that does not affect the polycarbonate of the disc? | | | Hans |

| Posted: | | | | I would get in touch with the vendor, Staid and get a replacement. As for why they would use them in an e-tailer...there are dishonest employees too.

| Posted: | | | | You should return it to the vendor and ask for a good copy. Remember to be polite and let them first give you a solution to the problem, before you get demanding a new one My own experience with returning from a online store is that in most cases they will replace it without asking to much questions. Do you want to tell us where you bought the dvd? |

I have the feeling I would get a replacement with the same problem, until the vendor (actually the manufacturer, I can't blame Amazon) cleans up their act, or their DVD's. Either way, it's a hassle. | | | Hans |

Do you want to tell us where you bought the dvd? It's Amazon, and I know that they are very helpful, also in case of missing shipments. However, I don't want to get on any blacklist by having problems too often. I'll get in touch anyway. | | | Hans | | | Last edited: by Staid S Barr |
