I was just reading an article on Seaking Alpha ant the ad banner across the top created a pop up with a mouse over..... you close the pop-up, then if not careful hit it again when attempting to navigate... Ya'll run across any other sites that do this.... I am running pop-up blockers and the little beast makes it through.

Ad created with Flash?  Not much you can really do about it except to ad-block the domain the ad came from.

I also hate it when flash ads exceed their allocated boundaries.

To Disable animated GIFs:  (or these annoying popups)

Internet Explorer:
go to Internet Options < Advanced < Multimedia
unselect Play animations in web pages

Firefox:
go to about:config
set image.animation_mode to none

Opera:
press F12
unselect Enable GIF animation

If you are running Firefox, you can get an add-on called Flashblock that will disable flash on every site you go to except the domains you put into the whitelist which will be allowed to display the flash content/

If you're running Opera all you'd have to do is a rightclick and the contextmenu "Blocked content" enables or disables any  chosen frame of the site.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
