| Posted: | | | | One of our Bedrooms TV's has a year and half old 32in HD Toshiba TV with built in DVD player that 'sucks' the disc inside the TV sideways, ( no drawer type). Anyway there is a disc stuck inside and will not eject and will not play either. Short of taking the set in for repair work., would like to attempt a quick easy way to eject., Anyone had any experience in this area? I tried to use a large flat butter knife to slide in and press but which way and how much pressure?
Thanks | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | Usually there's a liitle hole below (or next to) the drawer of the DVD-slot. This is the hole for the emergency release. Fold out a paper clip and stick it in there until the drawer opens up a bit. Then carefully pull open the drawer. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Like I said, there is no drawer it just sucks the dvd in and the dvd comes out with no drawer.., therefore no pin hole... only a set of 14 screws holding in the entire framework including the dvdplayer around the circumferance of the Set . | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | On the off chance the problem is electrical and not mechanical try pulling the TVs power plug from the wall (perhaps before you go to bed) and let all the power dissipate overnight. Then plug it in again in the morning and try to eject again. A couple minutes without power may be enough but more can't hurt and might help.
I've fixed a couple things over the years that got wonky for no obvious reason by unplugging them for a while. | | | Bad movie? You're soaking in it! |

| Posted: | | | | I tried for five minutes no power,, and on start up it is clicking away and saying eject on the screen.. Looks like this TV cover is going to have to come off. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | If it's like mine (similar TV, different mfg) the DVD player part will have it's own cover you can remove. I had the same thing happen. I removed the cover but still couldn't get it to release my disc. I gave up. Just the other day I tried it again to see if it fixed itself. Nothing. So this time when I hit eject I let it try to eject then gave it a nice smack.... disc popped out enough for me to grab it. It's still broken but I have my disk back |

| Posted: | | | | This thread is the perfect illustration of why I avoid combo equipment such as a TV & DVD player combo. If one breaks down you lose both if you want to get the darn thing repaired.
Nevertheless: good luck, Terry. I hope you find a way to get the disc out. |

| Posted: | | | | I gather the system is similar to in-dash CD- or DVD-Players in a car. I further hope you can hear the mechanics at work when trying to eject - if not, the darned thing is simply broken. In case the mechanics still seem to work, try pushing a sticker (obviously with the protective foil still on the back ) into the slot and wiggle it around a bit. Since the paper's relatively soft it's relatively unkikely to damage something important. But a sticker usually is strong enough to even out the contacts or whatever is in there. Most of the times, the disc gets stuck on the lifter (or whatever the system uses) and can be freed that way. If it works, don't use said disc again, as it's likely it's bend a little out of shape to begin with and gets stuck because of improper alignment. Hope this helps, if not, buy a seperate DVD unit. | | | Lutz |
