| Posted: | | | | Just wondered if the newly restored "Final Cut" makes the film better. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I am a big fan of the Director's Cut (without the voiceover, with unicorn, different ending), but wondered if the new Final Cut adds anything which would make the purchase worthwhile.
Thanks, R |

| Posted: | | | | I own the Blu Ray Collector's Edition, as a fan of Blade Runner this set is a MUST HAVE. I love the new Director's Cut, but all different versions are good. You should go and grab it greetings Donnie | | | www.tvmaze.com |

| Posted: | | | | I have the five disc edition. The final cut is very near the 1992 director's cut, with restoration of images and some special effects which enhance some scenes in a very good manner (no degradation of the spirit of the movie). I really think this edition is very interesting for a fan of this movie. This edition also gives the original theater edition, with happy ending, and that is the version I personaly prefer, though many people do not like it. I made a complete review of that edition, but it is in french... | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | I agree with Pasta & Donnie...well worth it. And the Special Features alone are outstanding. Seeing the film on Blu-Ray was awesome . I own both the Blu-Ray 5 Disc Collector's Edition and the Limited Edition Gift Set (Briefcase). I also had Blade Runner: The Director's Cut but sold that to my brother when I got the Blu-Ray set. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | I have the 5-disc Blu-Ray Collector's Edition. The Final Cut looks fantastic on Blu-Ray. Something that you may want to consider is that The Final Cut is actually the Director's Cut of the film. The Director's Cut didn't represent the director's intentions and was just a marketing gimmick. If you want to see the film the way the director would now like people to see it, get The Final Cut. |

| Posted: | | | | I won't touch which version is better. But I can say The Final Cut looks the best. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here. Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection. |

| Posted: | | | | I have both the 4-disc DVD set and the 5-disc Blu-ray set. It's well worth it to have all the versions and the special features are more than anyone could desire.
And this is just how bad Warner's quality control is...
When I originally purchased the DVD set, I had to return it TWICE, since several discs in the set were severely scratched...and both were perfectly new and sealed. The 3rd set was thankfully not scratched.
When I originally purchased the Blu-ray set, I had to return it THREE TIMES before getting a working set. A repress duplicated the "workprint" on disc 1 (albeit labelled correctly), and if you look on Amazon many people have received those bad sets. | | | Corey |

OK, thanks everyone for the replies. Am very interested in the Final Cut now, so will pick it up on DVD. Don't have blu-ray, am very happy with qual of upconverted DVDs to 50"plasma. One day maybe, when BR discs come down in price.... Tks, R. |

OK, I saw there were a lot of extras (they had 4 DVDs to fill after all), but I have found most of the new Making Of... are a complete waste of time. "Oh yes, the director is a genius, the greatest person I have ever worked with..", "oh yeah, he is a great actor, the best I have ever worked with...", "he is a great artist", blah blah blah blah. What is far more interesting are REAL extras, such as how scenes were shot (Matrix), how the project came together, etc. I find that mainly it is older movies which have extras that aren't simply schmooze-fests with all the Hollywood types telling each other how great they are. Blade Runner, in my humble opinion, has suffered greatly by very poor treatment from the studios. They have had over a decade to release a "good" DVD, but each successive release has had no extras, or extras which aren't worth the time of day. With a movie as good as this one, it's incomprehensible. So I have to say I was happy they released a 4-DVD set, but wary it was going to be another frustrating experience. Tks, R. |
