| Posted: | | | | Been noticing a lot over the last couple months how much 'housekeeping' You-Tube is performing on their site.. Videos are being pulled left, right and centre over 'copyright' materials, which to me is very frustrating to find video after video pulled. The owners of these videos have been making major achievements in ownership and have been forcing Youtube with lawsuits if not taken down. So I went to our own site here at Invelos and saw a number of removed videos, even from Zwollenaar just Yesterday is now pulled.. Even Ken's opening video to advertise this page, has been brought down. So I checked my own and only found One and did a quick edit and typed in removed.. This not only will shorten the pages of this thread but will make it more convenient to see just how wide spread this situation is on Youtube.. So I wanted to 'suggest' if our own members here at Invelos who have posted 'removed' videos in the past can check their post ., make a quick edit to that page.. Thanks !! from myself and others.. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

| Posted: | | | | I once posted a ten minute medley (comprised of scenes of Babylon 5 with matching music 30 seconds snippets) which I found in the early days of the WWW and had on hard disc. It had been on YT for more than two years. Now it's pulled because someone found his 30 second song snippet and claimed unauthorized use. IIRC it was "It takes two" in the Rod Stewart version where the images showed scenes with the ambassadorial aides Na'Toth, Lennier & Vir Cotto. Ironically the second part is still there (I had to cut it in two parts) even though it uses only one song for four minutes: "The Show must go on" by Queen. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | There's a certain length that you can use of a song without copyright issue. I can't recall the length or if this statement is true.
But from what I've seen, YouTube is taking the stance of shoot first, don't ask questions, and making you counter-suit to get your vid back.
Bryan Adams has extremely aggressive in getting vids removed that use any part of his songs of any length. |
