Welcome to the jungle, we are glad to have you here.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

Is there any way in my collection though to have my DVDs separate from my Blu-rays?

The best way I've seen was Mark's idea of creating a fake manual profile called "Blu Ray", then all you need to do is attach all your blu-rays to this profile as box set contents. This will file all your blu-rays together.
Another option is, if you don't use your Ordered or Wishlist tabs, to use one of those to list them.
Another way is to create different databases for them, but the downside is only one database can be uploaded online.

You can also filter by media type - in the Filters section, Formats tab, if you want a quick way to switch between views.

You can check out the "organize your collection" link in my signature to get an idea of what this looks like.

As for you Ken, quit answering easy questions and get back to that iPhone project!
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.

you can also create two separate databases, by going to file>open database>new database

this will restrict your online collection to one or the other... i believe that just using filters and sorting is the way to go...

If you desire quick access to your BDs, you can add a button on the layout to bring them to the top of your collection list, one drawback to this is that you can't apply any other sort order without scattering them. For this reason I don't use this myself.  Ideally we'd be able to add filters to the toolbars too.

Right click any button on the toolbars, select customise, select commands tab, select collection in the left pane, select media type in the right panel (about half way down) then drag the 'descending' button directly below that onto a toolbar and rename it to BDs or whatever you want.  Of course you could just add the media type column and use that but this will work in thumbnail view too.

Another way would be to use collection number and reserve some numbers for DVD and others for BD (example: assign a number over 10,000 to all BDs and up to 9,999 to DVDs)?

Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges.
