First DVD was Jaws (15 July 2000)

First Blu-Ray was actually a Buy 2, Get 3 action (1 March 2008)
  * Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End
  * Ghost Rider: Extended Cut
  * Ice Age 2: The Meltdown

Like Hal, I waited for the end of the war.

I got into DVD back in 1997.

Back then I still was into LaserDisc, and bought a Pioneer DVD/LD Combo player. The store I bought it from had a special where you got 5 free DVDs with it.

I can't really recall those but it was mostly Warner Bros. & MGM titles. I think some were Eraser, Dr. No, Forbidden Planet and 2 others.

Haven't gone Blu yet, but I think my first DVD I actually bought was "Ultimate Fights" which features various fight scenes from the movies.
