| Posted: | | | | Soooo, can Simone sing? or can she REALLY SING!! Great, great music, all day.....after standing for best part of 15 hours everything hurt! That was Madame & Madamoiselle Moles' third Fest....and they are already planning next years trip (Leaves Eyes are apparently already signed up) We came away with bags, t-shirts, sweat-shirts and CDs by Epica (naturally!), Autumn, Whyzdom & After Forever, and a lot less euros than we started with! Nice photos (what camera were you using?)....you must have been standing right in front of us for a couple of the shots of Epica. I'm thinking of the one with the two flame pillars, and one other camera in view. From where we were standing there were three cameras in front of us, so we probably got some shots of your arms One of the things I like about Wieze is that they actively encourage photographers (contrast their apporach with that of the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki last month, where any infringement with a cameraphone was pounced upon by the stewards and the miscreants marched off.....our cameras stayed in the hotel that night). So on Saturday we had my Canon with a 80-250mm zoom....ran through 500-600 photos (daughter #2 is a right little demon with MY camera) of which I culled 150 between acts, because I was running out of memory. All in all a good Saturday, and, yes, we should have stayed for Sunday.....unfortunately Mlle. had to get back for college. Madame & I look forward to the time when she goes to university (#1 has just started at Oxford)...so that we can do many more festivals......unencumbered by offspring | | | Chris | | | Last edited: by Mole |

| Posted: | | | | Yep it was a great festival. I'm a big Epica fan myself. Simone is absolutely one of the top voices out there. Another band that really blew me away was Krypteria. I had listened to some samples on their website, and it sounded very clean and commercial. I have nothing against a sound like that, but man, where they heavy on stage. I will have to pick up their new CD asap. It was sadly sold out at the festival All of my pictures were taken with a Pentax K100D and a Sigma 18-200 lens. Nothing superfancy, but I did get some real nice pictures. And I got some good tips in the photography course I'm taking, so my ratio of succes has increased quite a lot. The only problem with not being completely frontrow is I had to take a lot of pictures with the camera over my head, and the older SLR cameras do not have a Live LCD view, so I had to try and point the lens to what I wanted to capture. Only Unsun, Amberian Dawn and Krypteria were shot from the first row. But I'm very satisfied with the pictures I've taken. Pictures on the picasa site are 1600x1100. Should anyone want any of those in full 3008x2000, just PM me the filename. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

Up to now, Tarja had been my "benchmark" vocalist.....but Simone really does have it all! Quoting cvermeylen: Quote: Another band that really blew me away was Krypteria. Madame Mole was very keen on them, so a couple of their CDs will be winging their way to Mole Towers. My 450D has "liveview"; unfortunately, when in liveview the autofocus is, ah, less than perfect! I resorted to holding the camera upside down, which gave the lens an extra six inches of height | | | Chris |

| Posted: | | | | Well, at least like you said, you are allowed to bring any type of photocamera, which is nice. I hate it when you are not allowed to take pictures.
And you are right about Tarja, she is in a league of her own. Sadly, I liked the songs in Nightwish better than what she is doing solo. And for Nightwish, they are not as good as they were with Tarja.
Hopefully, somewhere in the future, they join up again. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm
