Unless you need the bitblocker encryption or multiple languages I think the professional is the better choice. But you do not need the XP mode to run DVD Profiler on Windows 7. You can use Windows 7 Home Premium (best choice for home use anyway if I may say so). It even runs fine on the 64 bit version of Windows 7. | | | Last edited: by Matt788 |

This is excellent news! While it looks like Profiler will work just fine with Windows 7 on its own, there are some other XP programs that I'm not so sure about. So if needed, having the ability to use these programs in XP mode is great! Thank you for the info! The reply was that this is available with the professional version (not just the Ultimate version). | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | I had to buy a new laptop recently. I purchased an HP with Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit). After doing the critical updates and installations I held my breath and installed the Profiler Beta.
I'm glad to report it works flawlessly.
In fact, some bugs in my 3.5 database on my old Vista laptop have gone away. |

This combination is running on my machine without any problems. It would help to know if there's an error message and what it says. Also it would be good to know if you have any differences to the default setup (location of database, installation path of program, moved "Documents"-folder after installation of DVDPro, ... etc.) A good starting point would be to assume that the backup file is corrupted. So if you still have access to your old installation make a new backup, but perform a database repair first. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
