| Posted: | | | | Variety is reporting that MGM who is again tetering on the edge of bankruptcy is going to be broken up and auctioned off. The MGM library, that is not held by Turner/Warner, will sold off to a new owner. The MGM logo will be sold off to another party, as will the UA Studio and logo. It seems that Turner/Time Warner will be the likely owner of the film catalog that it does not own already, this will include UA, Orion, MGM and several smaller catalogs.
Hopefully MGM will not pass into the history books, but will be acquired by an owner who can restore this storied history to some semblance of survival.

| Posted: | | | | I would be sad to see such an icon in the movie-industry disappear.
I'm sure the movies will find a place, with another distributor if need be. But I'm worried about the impact this will have on their TV franchises (most notably, Stargate franchise) | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | Dang. Hope this don't effect the rest of the Bond films getting to Blu-ray.
Least they got all the transfers done for them. |

| Posted: | | | | I doubt it, alba. Fox is the current distributor for the older Bond Films, here in the US, unless they take too long to release them. But we'll have to wait and see, ultimatel, of course this may affect the Fox distribution contract...but hopefully not in the near term.

Skip Im going to import them sometime from the US. I did have some of the releases over here but i hate these fat cases they have so sold them. Back in the early days there where silm cases but they changed them. For some reason i don't understand given they had this whole environmental thing as well with the format. |
