Clash of the Titans, originally given to us, back in 1981, by the great Ray Harryhausen. Both look decent but, still.... | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar |

Both look decent but, still.... Let's not forget Disney's newest entry due to a creative vacuum....The Sorcerer's Apprentice. And we have to turn rides into movies? Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Skip The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a ride? Pirates of the Carribean is a ride, the Haunted Mansion is a ride... The Sorcerer's Apprentice was a poem by Goethe, upon which Dukas wrote the music used in Fantasia. Disney is not well known for unadapted films, from Snow White on... | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

| Posted: | | | | Nope it isn't out of ideas; there are loads of new and exciting ideas out there... but the industry IS terrified of a single blockbuster practically ruining their whole company if it fails so they ignore all these ideas and go back to something with a built in audience or successful pedigree to remake or adapt. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

| Posted: | | | | When they are out of ideas they steal them from other countries.
But still cheaper and more interesting movies are getting made, you just have to look for them. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |

Both look decent but, still.... Hollywood has been out of new ideas since the first couple movies. I'm in the minority where remakes don't bother me in the slightest. Would I rather there not be remakes? Sure, but I couldn't care less there are. The reason I don't mind remakes is that there have been a lot of great movies because of them: House of Wax (1953)The Texas Chainsaw MasacreThe Thing (debatable as it was a short story first) Ocean's 11The FlyWillardAnd a ton more than I"m not thinking of. With remakes it's all or nothing. Sadly, you can't pick or chose the remakes you want. That's okay with me, though. If 99% of them suck, but 1% ends up being a pretty amazing movie, I'm fine with those odds. | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com

So I'm ok with The Thing, Ocean's 11 and The Fly. Not sure about Willard, and I definitely didn't see any reason to remake Chainsaw Massacre. And by the way, The Fly was a short story first, too. Published in Playboy, if memory serves me right. But that was a few years before I started to read Playboy... | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |
