| Posted: | | | | Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the snow on the mountain's rim, I am the laughter in children's eyes, I am the sand at the water's edge, I am the sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle Autumn rain, When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight, I am the star that shines at night, Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.

I need a walk on a quiet beach. Now I know my Mother's feelings for my brothers and sisters who were never born. May my never to be born potential grandchild be an inspiration to me... someday. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

| Posted: | | | | Im confused exactly what is the problem here? Do you not think it would be more productive to talk about the issue at hand than come across as all depressive.
Life is not perfect but it's our resolve that matters in the face of the most make or break moments of it. |

Life is not perfect but it's our resolve that matters in the face of the most make or break moments of it. There is a time to grieve and a time to talk--often in that order, but everyone is different. Cliff, I pray the Lord gives you comfort in your loss. | | | Last edited: by CalebAndCo |

| Posted: | | | | Right now, life is as miserable as can be. We're not a rich family. We're fine, but stretched. Our youngest is a sophomore at a fine university. I have an uncle who somehow believes that any state run university is free. Well, yes. There is no "tuition" at the college. But student fees (not including room and board or books or lab fees) are nearly $15,000 each year, and will go up by 30% next year. So, not including any spending money, it costs more than $30,000 each year to send her to school.
My middle child, while she's more than 30 years old, still has no driver's license. She's been married nearly ten years and has three daughters, the oldest in second grade, the youngest under two. Her husband, who has asthma and was forced to quit his work that he has a 4-year college degree to do. He managed the textbook section of his college bookstore and was offered a managerial job by Barnes & Noble in Anaheim. Because he was not working they borrowed thousands of dollars from us (and more from other relatives) to get them through the last few months before they moved. They are living in a cheap motel in Anaheim, through the graciousness of its manager. He now has a probationary job at Disney, because two B&Ns failed to hire him. He drives to work six days a week for 12-hour shifts. More than half his takehome pay pays for their one-room lodging. Much of the rest goes to paying for their van and the storage of their clothes and belongings.
They have been moved to the top of the list for a nice, inexpensive two-bedroom apartment (their belongings are still in storage in Sacramento, their pets staying with friends up here). But when no one moves out, they cannot move in. Then she got pregnant. She was 16 weeks into the pregnancy. She has rh negative blood, her husband positive blood, and each of the kids positive. So with every pregnancy, she's had some spotting, causing her to need a rhogam shot. So with the oldest in school, she walked the two younger girls with her to the emergency room. She waited for hours. Then they took two hours more to get the results of the blood tests. While they were waiting for that, the ultrasound revealed the child to be had no heartbeat. It was nearing 5:15, when she had to leave to get the oldest daughter from the afterschool program, yet they still were preparing the shot.
Her husband's manager said it would be taken as quiting if he left his shift to get the schoolchild. So she (with the two younger ones) left the er, walked to the school, and the four of them walked back to the er to get the shot. She will need to see a ob/gyn to have a D&C within three days. Her husband gets his one day a week off today.
The manager's supervisor apologized to my son-in-law for the manager's insensitivity.

Thank you all for your thoughts. Well i have always thought it helps to talk about things otherwise it just eats you up inside and that's fine if you wish to use me as your human punching bag feel free to pile on as much verbal abuse as you want i don't mind. I don't change what's happen to you and where your life is but by talking about things you get a more clear focus and as result you resolve things better. |

I don't change what's happen to you and where your life is but by talking about things you get a more clear focus and as result you resolve things better. You don't know Cliff and, unless I missed something, you are not a psychologist. That being the case, your best option...as every other person in this thread has demonstrated...is to simply offer your condolences and move on. If you can't do that, then you shouldn't say anything at all. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once.
