| Posted: | | | | I always wonder why they have anti-piracy warnings on legitimate DVDs and Blu-rays. Who is it to deter? Paying customers??? | | | My Home Theater |

| Posted: | | | | Personally, despite all, yes. That scenario has happened me on only a few DVD's, and because of that i am no longer buying DVD's from one UK distributor. I vote with my wallet, and try to support distributors that care about their customers. Plus we dont get FBI warnings or warnings before trailers here. Also havent seen a single nordic distributor that had unskippable trailers. But we do get sometimes the anti piracy add, and it makes me want to pirate the DVD. Seriously, the add damages my mental health. | | | Last edited: by whispering |

| Posted: | | | | I've had Blu-Ray's give their legal disclaimer slide in over 20 languages! |

| Posted: | | | | Hmm, why do they add all this disclaimers? Programs for copying DVDs illegal often automatically remove those. Do they hate the paying customers? |

| Posted: | | | | I've started converting my movies to DivX format to get rid of the menus and just get to the MOVIE when I click play but after discovering that Boxee has released a Windows version and that it can natively read ISO's, I pretty much decided against it.
This thread is damn close to putting me back on the DivX train. |

| Posted: | | | | Yes, definitely annoying. Anyway: I would never ever come to the idea to watch or purchase/download pirated movies... | | | Thorsten |

| Posted: | | | | I'm all about the quality of picture and sound, downloaded content tends to suffer in both categories. Pirated movies can suffer even more depending on how much (lack of) care they put into the copy.
I've started to force myself to relax a little bit on the picture quality but I simply can't bring myself to watch anything in 720p if I can help it (and thus, AppleTV fell to the wayside). |

Come on, can't you all see why they have to put it on the Blu titles? It's because DVD is only SD so they won't see the benefit! |

| Posted: | | | | The Blu ads on Blu makes no sense as I've already bought into Blu-Ray, so quit trying to sell me what I already have! The blu ads on dvd make no sense becuase they are still in sd, so they're pushing technogy they can't even demonstrate properly! The blu ads in stores are even worse as they lie and make dvd look like 3rd gen VHS. Yeah BD is better, but not as much as that never ending ad playing in Best Buy would lead you to believe. Thankfully the only time I saw the FBI warning in over 20 languages was after a movie ended and I just left it going while going outside to smoke. Then it just bacame commical after the first 5 or so, but when it hit over 20 and I was back inside it bacame retarded. Also, thankfully there are very few real "unskippable" ads of trailers. Many won't let you skip, but just click FF 5 times and they're done in no time. Always start hitting 3 buttons, skip, FF and menu. One will almost always get you out of whatever trailer you may be stuck in. FBI warnings are usually the only really unskippable parts. |
