I really believe there is not a movie out there that would scare me. If I was in that area it would be easy money for me I am sure.

Well, if the guy is offering $ 10,000, you can probably travel over there and still make a profit...

anyone who can watch his latest supernatural thriller, alone, in a cinema until the closing credits.
[...]
the film fan who steps up to the challenge will be wired up to a heart monitoring machine as well as a camera that ensures they keep their eyes open during the whole movie.

Probably the film lasts 360 hours and after 30 minutes it changes to a "Best of Bollywood Dance-Scenes".

I doubt that even Pete could stand that Horror
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Anyone have any idea of a phone number or adress, I want to try this and know dang well if I can I will win. No movie can possibly scare me out of a theater. They can bore me to sleep, and make me leave due to boredom or annoyance, but scare me out? B!*@# please! I accept your challenge!

O.K., found a bit of info.
Official site and contest will start March 10th
www.phoonk2.in is the site to be (just a trailer now). I'm seriously gonna try to get in on this. Not hyped about travelling to India, but I'll do it for 10 rack if they give me a chance!

I need to find more about this though. Scared out of theater? Will not happen, impossible banning real stuff happening (like roof caving in, rabid dogs unleashed in viewing room, etc).
A heart monitor saying this part freaked me out a bit? Sure, happens all the time. The Descent still makes me jump and I know the jumps are coming after seeing it 13 times, but that doesn't mean it scares me or makes me take my eyes off the screen even.

So if the rules are you can't leave or look away, I win. If I have to keep my heartrate slow and show no emotion whatsoever, that's just not in my genitic make-up.

Hmm, the trailer was Ok. So it could be better than many more Bollywood movies, but so scary that you leave the cinema?!?!

The article makes it pretty clear this is a scam and the guy running out of the theatre was a hired actor.

Keep in mind that they will attach a heart monitor.  Any increase in heart rate could be argued that you were scared.  Trying to hold in a fart could do that.

I'd bet it's just a publicity stunt.

I am pretty sure that they thought of some sure way to cheat anyone who tries out of their money. Arguably most adults with some movie experience could watch almost anything if some money was to be made.. And I am pretty sure they don't have the ability to pay that kind of money.. Before I'd try this I would try to get some sort of legal document stating the procedings exactly and also specifiying what constitutes a failure on the part of the viewer..
