Apple has moved legally against HTC and other Droid Phones, seeking damages and an injunction to block sales. It seems Apple believes Droid development has impinged on its IPhone OS patents and copyrights.

| Posted: | | | | IANAL, but I have taken a good number of law classes and should be in law school by the end of the year. There's no way in hell they'll get an injunction. In cases like this, an injunction essentially would make Apple the winner without an actual court case because it would give them an uncontested market (uncontested by Droid anyway) for a year or two while this went through the courts. Even if Google won the case, they'd be screwed. Apple is pretty much limited to collecting damages after the fact unless the violation is really blatant, which it isn't or this would have come up earlier. |

| Posted: | | | | Actually Apple is only going after the makers of the phone, HTC Corp., not the software used on the phone. Google itself is not listed in the suit as a defendant. Here is an article discussing it. Even if they manage to get the sale of any new phones blocked Google will just release their system on new models (which I would guess are already in the works). You can't stop Skynet - I mean Google |
