| Posted: | | | | It looks like the bargain basement has opened on BD. There are a number of titles which have been announced for RE-RELEASE like Terminator. It looks like they will carry MSRPs of $19.99, the caveat they are, believe it or not FOOLSCREEN.

| Posted: | | | | Wow!!! So some people spent a lot of money to get an high-definition TV & reader and they prefer to watch their movie improperly screen I can trade them my old 20' TV screen for their TV set, I'm sure they will not see a difference and maybe appreciate their viewing experience better I was certain that those old fullscreen vhs days were over since at last 5 years and people known better, guess I was wrong again | | | Last edited: by Jimmy S |

| Posted: | | | | Are you certain about The Terminator though? I read somewhere (soprry for the lack of a link) that it is supposed to be an improvement over the previous release... Bargain bin doesn't ring right with that. | | | Achim [諾亞信; Ya-Shin//Nuo], a German in Taiwan. Registered: May 29, 2000 (at InterVocative) |

Putting the title in the bargain basement does NOT preclude a new Special dition, in fact it supports a new SE, get the old stock out of here, i don't know what they're doing or why. All I know is what i have seen. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | I will accept your apology. There are several titles being released this way, major ones for the most part. I am not in the habit of posting inaccurate information. Am i sure? Boy, i can't say what i would like to. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | You do know that "fullscreen" for an HD TV would be 16:9 and not 4:3 don't you? Since there's contradictory information on that screenshot there's no telling what's actually on the disc.

| Posted: | | | | Mayber, scott, Maybe. I have not seen anything that leads me to believe the industry has changed the definiton of either Full Screen or Pan & scan...have you. Time will supply the answer, but even if you are correct Terminator at 1.78, oh yeah i'll break the door down to buy that....NOT. To make matters even more entertaining the title involved are all Combos. I don't make assumptions, scott, until I see the back cover we won't know exactly whay hollyweird is doing. If you know something else then provide a link, or state that you are making an ASSumption, because as i said I have seen no announcements from ANY Studio that says they are redefining Fullscreen and Pan & Scan. Btw Rick the tone was a little more than a question. Are you certain about The Terminator though? like i said Duh, no I am not sure, good grief. ohhhhh what I want to say. Am I supposed to believe that Achim was doing a Joe Pesci (vinny) imitation, I doubt it. But like I said i will accept his apology. but you, rick, not a chance

No, you won't know what is up until you watch the movie. I'll also wager you that the vast majority of purchasers won't notice if a 1.85:1 film has been cropped to 1.78:1. --------------- |

| Posted: | | | | I won't know because i won't buy it. I don't buy altered material intentionally, I want OAR. this sounds like a repetition of the creation of "Family Friendly" DVDs, what a joke that was.
Wait until they crop a 2.35 film, scott, or maybe they should crop ben-Hur down to 1.78 from 2.55 or 2.70 depending on the negative...no thank you.
BTW i am simply trying to offer information to people, your tone seems ummm a little argumentative to me. I hope I'm wrong but both of your posts sound that way.
Also as I said you are making assumption that you have not backed up. I said that I am not aware of any announcement by ANY studio that they were redefining either/or Full Screen/Pan & Scan. Can you back your claim up are is the assumption that i think it is. I mean you know, you certainly don't have the ability to set AR standards or definitions for Hollywood. So I can only presume that are you making an assumption, just like you assume there is contradictory data in the screen shot. 4X3 is the industry standard for Fullscree and pan & Scan, what you believe is not relevant, until the title is released and we get to actually SEE the product. But you certainly can't summarily claim that 1.78 is Fullscreen when it is not...YET.

| Posted: | | | | We have to wait and see, do you have a problem with reporting news which may be of interest to the community. I have to laugh at your answer. I sid that you seemed to be a bit argumentative and i hope i am wrong. That's ummm a simple yes or no. You probably are. Sounds to me like a non-denial denial, something that would come out of the mouth of my friends in DC. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here
