| Posted: | | | | President Obama just arrived in Buffalo. I'm not sure if other countries will show his visit on the news but if he will be stopping by a business right around the corner from my house.
So you might get a chance to see a little bit of my home town! I'm getting ready to head out for the short walk to where he is giving his talk. Look for the blond in the Buffalo Bill rain slicker and carrying the Buffalo Bills golf umbrella - that will be me!
This will be the third president I have gotten a chance to see. President Reagan and President Clinton came here too. |

| Posted: | | | | Lucky you! My sister (who is not a political person by any stretch) was fortunate enough to get tickets to his inaugural address in DC. While crowded, she said it was pretty awesome seeing a President speak in 'real life', and it wasn't something she'd soon forget. | | | Reviewer, HorrorTalk.com

| Posted: | | | | Have fun, Kathy! I saw President Nixon's motorcade go by when I was a kid. I couldn't see him though. I remember being fixated on the little American flags that were attached to either side of the front of his limo, flapping furiously as they whizzed by. This was in San Francisco. A few years ago, I got to go to the Nixon Library where they have his limo on display. Bit of a time warp for me to see it again. When Bush #1 was VP, I saw him presiding in the Senate. That's the extent of my presidential viewings. | | | ...James

| Posted: | | | | He stopped by here a few months ago to give a speech about healthcare. Mainly, his motorcade held up traffic. Also, one of my professors had somehow missed the news he was coming and just ran into him at the coffee shop. |

| Posted: | | | | In the past I've meet two ex-Prime Minister of my province (Jacques Parizeau and Bernard Landry) of course it isn't as impressive than the US President. But it was one to one meeting were we have talk, exchange idea and shake hands. It happened when I was the president of the student political department at my university and it was great to talk with them like normal people do. | | | Last edited: by Jimmy S |

| Posted: | | | | Years ago .. The Queen passed me in a motorcade with the top down, ( not her top, ,the Lincoln's) and where I was standing there was NO one around me for many yards.., and she looked right at ME from about 12 feet away and smiled and waved her little hand at me.. and I couldn't help the rush of exhilaration I enjoyed for a moment knowing that I, Me, was the only one in the world she was fixated on .. It brought a wave of happiness that I can't explain or understand to this day .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | Posted: | | | | Great stuff. I don't care what your personal political opinion is, getting near any country's elected leader is heady stuff. Shortly after 9/11, President Bush went around the country, speaking in various places. When he came to Sacramento, the association my wife works for was one of the sponsors. He was to fly into the parking lot next to the AAA baseball park across the Sacramento River from downtown, be driven to Memorial Auditorium and speak to cleared guests and TV and radio. Local politicians would join him on stage, as well as local police/fire fighters who dealt with the Trade Towers cleanup. It would start with the posting of the colors, the Pledge of Allegiance, and invocation, then introducing the president who would speak. My wife's association looked for schoolkids to make the pledge. After the pledge, they would leave the stage and after the invocation, President Bush would come on stage. Well, things did not go as planned. The president came on stage early, before the posting of the colors. Then the kids were brought on. After the pledge, President Bush indicated to have the invocation while the kids were still on stage. My daughter is in the lavender sweater here. | | | If it wasn't for bad taste, I wouldn't have no taste at all.

I hope it's raining there Kathy, because if you open that umbrella, and it's sunny, the Secret Service might think your sending a signal to the grassy knoll. |

| Posted: | | | | The only national leader I've ever met was Olof Palme, the Prime Minister of Sweden. We shook hands and exchanged some polite chitchat, but that was it.
A year to the day after meeting me he was assassinated on the streets of Stockholm. I remember the timing because it was my friend's birthday. | | | Tags, tags, bo bags, banana fana fo fags, mi my mo mags, TAGS! Dolly's not alone. You can also clone profiles. You've got questions? | Posted: | | | | I saw Air Force One take off from the Columbus airport once. My mom and I were there to pick up my step-dad..his plane was delayed landing because they had to stay out of the airspace. We also saw the huge plane that carries the limos too. I think Air Force Two might have been there too...I can't remember for sure now. | | | |

Of course he was about an inch tall, since we were so far back. My brother on the other hand, got meet him, when he toured his ship the USS Theodore Roosevelt. Then back in January Obama came to Elyria, OH (were I live) and gave a speech at our local college. I got to see him and his entourage drive by, since my apartment was on his route. Which can be seen here. | | | We're on a mission from God.

| Posted: | | | | I guess one of the benefits of living in the DC area is getting to see your President now and then. I saw and shook hands with President Clinton once at a golf course. He was golfing with Vernon Jordan who proceeded to hit a nasty hook into the woods. I saw President Bush (younger) from about 10 rows back at a speech. | | | My Home Theater |

What fun! Didn't realize you were so close, Kathy... I'm near Rochester. We sent a reporter and photographer there today. | | | Randy Compton | Farmington NY |

| Posted: | | | | President Clinton came to my little ole hometown (pop 55k) back in 1999 to speak at the high school a couple weeks after a school shooting. I remember a couple days before his arrival looking out my window and seeing a couple helicopters hovering around the high school a few miles away. And the day of his arrival, went to the airport (in the town over) and watched Air Force One take off. Impressive especially since no 747's ever land or take off at that airport. |
