After reading some of the FAQ's on IMDB it seems that most are at least somewhat accurate but written in such a way to prove one point over another.

I also noticed that the FAQ entries aren't even sent in for evaluation first. Anyone can go and post anything they want and even edit/delete others FAQ contributions. This seems that it would lead to a lot of ping ponging back and forth with those that think that their own "facts" are more important than others,

If I had to put a scale on how much I would trust the FAQ on IMDB I would say only about 30%.

I've added information to IMDB ( as a registered member) and it usually takes up to two/three weeks to get approved/disapproved., The web site to do this is complicated as it it takes a number of keyed entries to get to where you want to go and then it appears to repeat it self in directing the update.. so it takes a few entries to know where you are going . When your entry is accepted you'll get an email with a direct link to the area you updated, but you don't get any follow up notes (approved/disapproved) unless you go there yourself ( after two weeks) to see how it is going. Nor is there an area to see who contributed what in the past., so it appears to me that IMDB is secretive in this area of contributions.. I very rarely contribute ( maybe 6 in 5 years).. and because of this , I 'm sure myself and others can't be bothered to update. I'm absolutely positive that people who are hired to be extras or uncredited in movies , log in to take advantage of this free service and to get their names 'in lights' .
