| Posted: | | | | FYI - we have been directed not to bring PM conversations to the forum. You may want to delete that. I agree with your point in general (I'm not going to discuss the specifics of this one instance since I didn't see the scans). Many contributors take no votes personally. Some can get nasty about it as well. Personally I use the PM block feature for the nastier ones. In fact I just had the the 3 year anniversary of my longest block. As long as you vote in accordance with the rules as you understand them you don't have to worry about it. If someone harasses you via PM you can block them. If you feel it's bad enough you can also report the offending message to Invelos. |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting VMSmithe: Quote: Why are some contributors so bitter about a 'NO' vote? Firstly, I'd suggest you remove the part of your post that I haven't quoted. The moderators recently ruled that bringing vote issues with an individual to the forums is a form of harassment and you could be hit with a temp ban. Seeing how you've only made 7 posts you may not have been aware of this. For the bit that's left, some contributors take "no" votes far too personally, especially in the case of cover scans. The official response has been in the past that if anyone is abusive to you in a PM over a vote, then you should block them. Personally I think that's a bit extreme, I'd prefer a way of reporting PMs to a moderator just like forum posts. My advice would be in the future if something like this happens, stop replying, don't let yourself get dragged into the argument. It's also important to remember that we have contributors from all over the world, so it pays to be careful to make sure what you write in your vote reason is clear and polite, so as to avoid unintentional offence. |

I will delete the thread if it is a written rule, and not just form etiquette. |

My point is not that someone was offended ...nor is it in any way a harassment. It is that my 'NO' vote somehow evoked such a reaction she felt it necessary to bring in nationalities and celebrating 9/11. That's not harassment, that's SICK. |

Unfortunately the discussion will revolve around what was said and not the topic. @ VMSmithe, if you want to discuss people getting bitter then you should remove the rest of it. If you just want to discuss your issue with this one person, well, as Terry said it will probably get shut down pretty quick. Either way I made my point already regarding the original topic so I'll just sit back and watch |

She's (obviously) young and it looks more like the type of comment you do when you are pissed of and regret 2 minutes after, but it's too late to back-up. |

| Posted: | | | | It is very sad that contributors take votes so personal. Scans are very subjective and should never result in the type of messages either of you sent to each other.
Personally, I would have made a comment after voting "no". If I receive a pm, I politely express my point of view and explain my rationale in a little more detail.
But, I would not have responded to any follow up pms if I found them to be to be inappropriate or inflammatory. I would also not send any that could be considered the same.
lyonsden5 is correct though, pms are just that, private messages, and should not be brought to the forums. | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

I have what I need out of it. As for your post, I think you should keep your PMs private. --------------- |
