| Posted: | | | | I mean like there is not that much fun in it anymore because there is so much upkeep. I just went through profiler and relised that there are 26 TV shows that I intend to keep up with, plus I want to buy Vampire Diares, The Gates, V, and Scundrals when they come out. Various movie sequals. I try and buy all the Blu Ray criiterions, which I will not be able to do this month because I need a job. The stress is getting to me, eleven applications in one week and not a single call for an interview. Ah, maybe it is time to put collecting on hold for a while |

The stress of your situation is very bad on the body. Take care of yourself, find things and people that make you feel good and can help you get through this bad stretch.
I wish you the best of luck and hope things get better soon. |

I have been where your at before myself, just try to stay optimistic and take care of the essentials. | Posted: | | | | This is why I don't collect DVDs. I buy films/TV shows that I want to watch. My original criteria was to only by films/TV shows that I would want to watch more than once. After a few years, I started buying stuff that I wanted to see, but never found time to actually go to the theater and see. My TV show criteria remains the same...I only buy the ones that I know I will watch every couple of years. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | I must agree with Martian here. To collect DVD's would imply to get different copies and collections and rarities.
I Catalogue DVD's. I buy Movies on DVD
things that
1. Haven't seen, but look good. 2. Movies that have nostalgia 3 Movies that I like, and would watch again. 4 Bargain bin of movies that are ok

| Posted: | | | | I agree with Kathy totally and use Martian's reasoning when buying DVD's.
Although I may go for the sequels just to complete a series, I see no point in making "work" out of it. The only hobby I feel is worth overdoing even when you get bored are those which have the potential to be a decent investment in the future. DVD's don't really fit into that category since they rarely increase in value over time.
There is nothing wrong with taking a break, turning away from a routine that is boring you, and moving on to something else. It's summer. Go out and find other ways to have fun! Or at least catch up on any DVD's that you haven't watched yet. Couldn't persuade myself to buy "Falling Down" when it was released in Germany, because the price never went below my deadline (€ 10,-). The cheapest ones you get here now are about € 15,- (new). I'm really waiting for a ReRelease. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | The only work is tracking down rare OOP discs I missed the first time around. Internet makes that work pretty easy though, although some things I just can't find a reasonable price on anymore. Then it's time for torrents and customs. |

| Posted: | | | | Yep.. I am overwhelmed for two reasons..
1.) I rarely have any space left to store them 2.) Of my nearly 600 Bd's I have watched less than half and it's hard to catch up when you continue collecting like a madman | | | Check out my Youtube channel under https://www.youtube.com/user/alittleolder |

| Posted: | | | | Currently the most fun I have with my Blu Ray's entering the new ones in the profiler and maybe update the profiles.. I actually like that more than watching the movies themselves.. | | | Check out my Youtube channel under https://www.youtube.com/user/alittleolder |
