| Posted: | | | | Marvel Movie MarathonAs some of you may know I am doing a marathon of The Incredible Hulk and I was thinking about how I could tie that in with this weekend's marathon. The first thing I did was check to see how many movies I have that The Hulk at least appears in. And that number... while larger then I realized... I didn't feel was large enough for a marathon. So then I checked how many movies I had to choose from within the Marvel universe. That is where I found I had enough choices for a decent marathon.I decided to put this post up today as I felt I may want to watch a movie or two tomorrow... which is earlier then normal. Below is a list of Marvel movies I have to watch... if there is any you would like to see reviewed just say so... and I will do my best to get to it... though no promises. My Marvel Movies1. Blade 2. Blade 2 3. Blade Trinity 4. Daredevil 5. Doctor Strange 6. Elektra 7. Fantastic 4 8. Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer 9. Ghost Rider 10. Hulk 11. Hulk vs Thor 12. Hulk vs Wolverine 13. | Posted: | | | | Scanning through this list i found many movies I already watched (my name is Michael and I'm a Comic-oholic), some of them belong to the list of the worst films ever though. My personal "If you haven't already unsealed them, try to get a refund"-list 1. Ghost Rider 2. Elektra 3. Spider Man 3 4. All X-Men | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | I must be more tolerant on these movies then you... as I already watched every one of them at least once... and enjoyed them all to a degree (I especially liked Ghost Rider). But my daughter Britt agrees with you on Spider-Man 3... I agree it is the worst of the trilogy... but I did still enjoy it.
Of course I was never much of a Comics person... read very few when I was a kid. So that could be part of the reason... since it wouldn't upset me if it don't go strictly by the comic. | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars:Tobey Maguire Willem Dafoe Kirsten Dunst James Franco Cliff Robertson Rosemary Harris Plot:From Columbia Pictures Presents, A Marvel Enterprises/Laura Ziskin Production, Spider-Man is a live-action feature of one of the world's most popular comic book superheroes. Directed by Sam Raimi, Spider-Man centers on student Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) who, after being bitten by a genetically-altered spider, gains superhuman strength and the spider-like ability to cling to any surface. He vows to use his abilities to fight crime, coming to understand the words of his beloved Uncle Ben: "With great power comes great responsibility." Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Gallery Production Notes Interactive Games Music Videos Outtakes/Bloopers DVD-ROM Content Closed Captioned Screen Tests. My Thoughts: I remember the first time I saw this movie. Since Spider-Man has been my favorite superhero since I was a kid (I know kind of ironic what with me having a bad case of arachnophobia) it is one of the few movies I bothered to go see at the theater when it was first released. I remember initially being disappointed with his web coming from his wrist instead of the webshooters that he created in the cartoons and such I grew up on. But shortly into the movie I decided that I liked the idea of how the movie does it even better then the way I grew up knowing it to be. I thought the choice of Toby Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man was very good... he did a great job with the role. I have watched this movie many times since I got the dvd... and still enjoy it just as much as I did the first time. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | Title: Spider-Man 2: Widescreen Special Edition Year: 2004 Director: Sam Raimi Rating: PG-13 Length: 127 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.40:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, French: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English, French, Spanish, Trivia Stars:Tobey Maguire Kirsten Dunst James Franco Alfred Molina Rosemary Harris J. K. Simmons Plot:Two years have passed since the mild-mannered Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) walked away from his longtime love Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) and decided to take the road to responsibility as Spider-Man. Peter must face new challenges as he struggles to cope with "the gift and the curse" of his powers while balancing his dual identities as the elusive superhero Spider-Man and life as a college student. The relationships Peter holds most dear are now in danger of unraveling as he clashes with the powerful, multi-tentacled villain Doctor Octopus aka "Doc Ock" (Alfred Molina). Peter's life-long yearning for M.J. becomes even stronger as he fights the impulse to abandon his secret life and declare his love. In the meantime, M.J. has moved on with her life. She has embarked on an acting career and has a new man in her life. Peter's relationship with his best friend Harry Osborn (James Franco) has been overshadowed by Harry's growing vendetta against Spider-Man, whom he holds responsible for his father's death. Peter's life becomes even more complicated when he is pitted against the powerful new nemesis, "Doc Ock." Peter must now learn to accept his fate and harness all his superhero talents in order to stop this diabolical madman in his octagonal tracks. Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Featurettes Gallery Multi-angle Music Videos Outtakes/Bloopers Closed Captioned Trivia Track My Thoughts: Even though I still enjoyed this movie very much... I never cared for it as much as the first one.... almost... but not as much. I don't like the whole storyline of Peter Parker loosing his ability for a while. I don't like that so many people got to see Spider-Man without his mask on... which is something that I hate about all the Spider-Man movies. The only person that I can accept seeing him without his mask is Mary Jane. To me that felt right. But Doc Ock, Harry and the train full of people shouldn't have happened. Well maybe Harry as it was really needed for the storyline. But that is it. Even though they never said it in the movie... you also get the feeling that Aunt May also knows about Peter being Spider-Man. I did however really enjoy seeing him go up against Doc Ock. I thought they did a good job with him. I also like that we see Professor Connor. It is a shame they didn't let The Lizard be one of the supervillians in any of the Spider-Man movies... I always liked him. My Rating: 3.5/5 | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.40:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1, English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars:Tobey Maguire Kirsten Dunst James Franco Thomas Haden Church Topher Grace Bryce Dallas Howard Plot:Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) finally has the girl of his dreams, Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), and New York City is in the throes of Spider-mania! But when a strange alien symbiote turns Spider-Man's suit black, his darkest demons come to light - changing Spider-Man inside as well as out. Spider-Man is in for the fight of his life against a lethal mix of villains - the deadly Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), Venom (Topher Grace), and the New Goblin (James Franco) - as well as the enemy within himself. Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Featurettes Gallery Music Videos Outtakes/Bloopers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is actually only the second time I seen this movie. Unfortunately there is a reason for that. As big of a Spider-Man fan as I am... this is a bit difficult for me to say. But the franchise took a bit of a nose-dive for me with this movie. I mean it is still a decent movie... but it just had so much more potential. Maybe if they didn't try to cram so much into it. I mean they had no less then 3 supervillians in this one movie. Maybe if they concentrated on just one or no more then two at once they would have been able to make it better. And how they handled his... what would you call it? I guess for the lack of a better term... possession that Peter went through with Venom. It just didn't work for me. It seemed to make Peter more idiotic then so much aggressive. What was up with all that stupid dancing? Dancing down the street. Some stupid dance show in that club MJ was singing in... It just didn't fit for me. With all that said... it is still Spider-Man... it is still loaded with action... it still looked incredible. My Rating: 2.5/5 | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.77:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: Trivia Stars:Justin Gross Grey DeLisle Michael Massee Marc Worden Olivia D'Abo Nan McNamara Plot:A world in crisis. Age-old enemies on the verge of attack. A mighty team is recruited, and Earth's ultimate hero is sought to lead them — Captain America. Unfortunately, he's been frozen in ice for over sixty years. Inspired by Marvel's best-selling books, "The Ultimates," this is the extraordinary story of six very independent heroes who, like it or not, must fight as one to save the world. Little did they know that their biggest threat would emerge from within their very own ranks — The Incredible Hulk! Extras:Scene Access Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Featurettes DVD-ROM Content Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I got this through Amazon Marketplace very cheap. After watching it I feel like I got a heck of a deal... because I enjoyed every minute of it! I was never familiar with The Avengers... but always liked both Captain America and Iron Man. But before this movie I never even heard of a few of them (Wasp, Giant Man & Black Widow). I really enjoyed seeing the team get together. I did get a kick out of the line where after seeing Thor, Giant Man asks "Who's the chick with the hammer" and Iron Man adds... "Whoever she is... I'm glad she is on our side" My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

Mysterious Wakanda. It lies in the darkest heart of Africa, unknown to most of the world. An isolated land hidden behind closed borders, fiercely protected by its young king — the BLACK PANTHER. But when brutal alien invaders attack, that leaves the Black Panther with no option but to go against the sacred decrees of his people and ask for help from outsiders. And so he turns to... THE AVENGERS — Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Giant Man, Wasp, Black Widow and the Incredible Hulk. These mightiest of heroes have battles the aliens before and barely survived. They thought it was over. They were wrong. Extras:Scene Access Bonus Trailers Featurettes Outtakes/Bloopers DVD-ROM Content My Thoughts: Before these animated movies I obviously wasn't too familiar with the Avengers. In the first movie I didn't know most of the team. In this one it is the first time I ever heard of the Black Panther. I enjoyed it quite a bit... though I was surprised to see one of the Avengers dying in the movie. Definitely worth checking out. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: 5.1 Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars:Noah Crawford [Noah C. Crawford] Brenna O'Brien Aidan Drummond Dempsey Pappion [Dempsey M. Pappion] Adrian Petriw Tom Kane Plot:Whenever the forces of evil threatened mankind, Earth's mightiest heroes, the Avengers, were there to stop them — until they made the ulitmate sacrifice in their final fight with the indestructible robot, Ultron. But all was not lost for Tony Stark (Iron Man) kept the children of the Avengers safe and raised them to become the teenage heroes of tomorrow. Now James (son of Captain America and Black Widow), Torunn (daughter of Thor), Azari (son of the Black Panther), and Pym (son of Wasp and Giant Man) must finish the fight their parents started. Soon the arrow-slinging son of Hawkeye will join their ranks, but it will take more than five teens to destroy the machine that defeated their parents. If these young heroes have any hope of winning, they must find the missing Hulk and come together as... the Next Avengers! Extras:Scene Access Bonus Trailers Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is another one I liked a lot. It was fun not only seeing the kids of the Avengers... but also seeing an old Tony Stark/Iron Man and an old Bruce Banner/Hulk. I must admit though... I do prefer the original Avengers. Some of those are my old time favorites after all. But it is cool to see what they next generation of Avengers is like. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |

Also starring Liv Tyler, Oscar® nominee Tim Roth, and Oscar® winner William Hurt, The Incredible Hulk is "steeped in action and spectacular special effects" (Claudia Puig, USA Today) and delivers a mind-blowing final showdown that can only be summed up with one word... INCREDIBLE!Extras:Scene Access Audio Commentary Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Digital Copy My Thoughts: After watching this movie I can say... Finally, an Incredible Hulk movie that is worthy of the title! It seems like everything the first Hulk movie did wrong this one did right. The story is ten times better... the special effects are much better... as are the actors. The fight between The Hulk and Abomination was great... lasted just long enough. Some of these movies tend to extend that final fight longer then it should be. My Rating: 4/5 | | | Pete |
