It bothers me when I can see the meaning behind a day like this one is overlooked by the next generation. The 4th of July isn't supposed to be only about fireworks and parties no more than Christmas is only about presents.
It's a day meant to show respect for all of those who have lived and died to protect this country at both times of war and at times of peace. It's a day to be thankful and grateful for Our Country and all of the freedoms that were never required upon us but instead for which we are blessed to receive. It's also a day to respect Our Flag as the physical representation of all that is great about this nation and its people within, both physically and within our hearts and minds as it stands tall for the next generation to see and once again be reminded of our soldiers; our country: our father, mothers, brothers, sisters and family.

And don't forget most of those soldiers where Scottish. And the Scottish sense of liberty philosophy and economics which made it all possible. |
