I do not remember if I posted this already so if I am duplicating my post please forgive me.

My Avatar is that of my Kitty Tigger. Unfortunately two Tuesdays ago he joined other Cats in Kitty Heaven where the Catnip is abundant, and there are comfy pillows for a 28 hour nap.

Tigger was adopted at the age of 4 weeks after he was rescued from a litter found under an Episcopal church.

When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis he made sure I did not just give up, and take it easy. From having me explain to my neighbors that it was not a Tornado Siren on a clear day it was only Tig telling me it was time to feed him. To the various ways he found to "escape" to the outside by finding every nook he could squeeze through to make his breakout. He made life an adventure.

For the last 18 months of his life he had Kidney disease that his Vet said would have killed any other cat years ago.

He passed away 20 years and one week to the day we figured out he was born. He was the last of his litter to pass away.

The Vet who saw him first when he was a small sneezing kitten, was the one whom saw him as he breathed his last. Those obituaries that always read he/she was surrounded by his family when they died, was true in his case.

My life will go on, but with a small Tigger shaped whole.

(As an aside Tigger was older than the son of his lifelong Vet.)

Any of you who have lost a Cat/Dog/Snake/Iguana/Elephant know that our furry (Scaled) members of our family are always there for us, and we are there for them.

Thanks for letting me ramble,

Bobb

20 years well lived shame about the kidney disease. Least from what i have read that did not got him so a decent death.

While you can't replace him getting a new cat asap will certainly make you feel better by bringing a new life into yours and having something to care for and to cuddle into while you grieve from Tiggers passing.

I am so sorry for you loss of your beloved pet. I enjoyed reading a little bit about him. Tigger sounds like he had a fun and  adventurous life. I'm glad he was able to share it with you.

Thank you everyone for your condolences.

We are taking a break before introducing another rescued kitten/cat for a bit. Our two remaining cats, and one dog make life easier after Mr. Tig's passing.

When a friend who writes Cat books, and is a regular writer for Cat Fancy suggested we adopt another Orange Tabby I told her I will never adopt such a cat.
The reason?

The wonderful thing about Tigger was, "He was the Only one!"

Thanks again,

Bobb

Dr. Killpatient,

That has been my desktop image for a week now. Thanks for sharing so others can view it as well. If I can I want to scan a picture my wife made me for my birthday from a digital photo I took about 5 years back.

It summed Tigger's attitude for most of his life.
