...where I can stand in the store looking at Blu-rays to buy and suddenly I can't remember if I allready have it on DVD. I'm in a state where I will upgrade my DVD's to BD's but I start with the BlockBusters first, and then selective upgrade. I was looking at Collateral Damage on BD and I suddenly couldn't remember if I got that, so I didn't buy it though
Anyway the solution is a mobile device so I can access my collection online before I buy and save me a trip back to the store to exchange it. I used to have steelcontrol on what I got, but just turned 38 and my memory isn't as good as it used to be

Beat Alzheimer, get DVD Profiler for iOS and a nice iPhone. Don't buy Android as you might have to wait a while for this app to turn up in its Android version....

Hi,

I've created a Tag which I named "Malform".  I've tagged all Pan & Scan and 4X3 widescreen DVDs that I have.  I filtered on this tag and saved the titles to a text file.  I saved this text file to an old Palm Pilot that I have and try to remember to leave it in the car.  Now if I see a Blu-ray that I think I might buy at least I have one more tool to help in making that decision.

I use a non-AOR tag, too.  That's a good idea for using it.

Semi off-topic, but I'm confused by this...

Ok, so you're upgrading your DVDs to Blu-rays. I get that. But you didn't buy a Blu-ray because you couldn't remember if you already have the DVD? Why would that matter?

If you want the movie and you have it on DVD, great, it's the upgrade you wanted.

If you want the movie and you don't have it on DVD, great, it's a movie you wanted.

If you don't want the movie, why look to buy it in the first place?

Because it wasn't my first choise of upgrading to BD (Collateral Damage)

See above.

Collateral Damage was just an example.

Bacause it was a bargain with 3 BD's for $39.99 but I couldn't find three movies that I liked at the moment, and CD was just an example. As said in the start thread, It would save me time back and forth to the store if I had an iPhone or similar to check my online base, then I could find out if I allready got the title or not
