| Posted: | | | | From what I can see this only has German subtitles but can anyone confirm if the film is still English friendly for the Spanish speaking sections (a decent chunk of the movie)? ie. English subtitles for Spanish parts...
Thanks. |

| Posted: | | | | I've never trusted cases. In the years I have been a staff member at www.dvdcomapre.net it's surprising how often people submit specs from their copies saying that the cover is incorrect. This review only mentions German subs: http://www.dvd-forum.at/21491/bluray_review_detail.htm Thanks for the help though! |

Funnily, Kinowelt Home Entertainment for example released quite a few Blu-rays last year with like 8 different subs and English language but no English subtitles because they a) are not allowed to included them due to legal issues with the license holder or b) to save costs So, it's not always a given fact, that English subs are included. | | | Last edited: by TraunStaa |

So, it's not always a given fact, that English subs are included. You will be surprised at just how many films discs do not include subs. I recently picked up a German release last year (title now escapes me) for an English film. Had no English subtitles at all. Not a problem, but some of the film was not in English. I've also had a few imports from non-English speaking countries where the subtitles are for the whole film and not just the non-English sections. As TraunStaa said, a lot of it is to do with licensing and cost cutting so if you don't speak the mother tongue of the release country it is always best to do a little research. | | | Last edited: by samuelrichardscott |

Unfortunately lots of releases here do not have universal language of the world subtitles. Lately Iron Man 2, Splice, Eclipse come to mind. I even had to add a disgruntled "subtitle_not_english" tag, because you cannot filter by 'not' and the reports subtitle condition is broken. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. I have lots of UK DVDs that don't bother putting an English subtitle track on it. The rule seams to be: The harde the people are to understand the less likely they will have subs. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online
