How honestly this film gets so much praise is beyond me. We had to give up and walk out after an hour, and i hate having to do that. Maybe when the DVD comes out with subtitles i might appreciated it more.

Ned Pepper: I call that bold talk for a one-eyed fat man.
Rooster Cogburn: Fill your hands, you son of a bitch! | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

No, I loved it. But then I also know the difference between your and you're. If that was you trying to question my intelligence on the bases of my spelling. I will have you know I'm dyslexic. |

Those of North American background will be more accustomed to it. As im sure you guys have problems understanding all the various accents of these islands. Im sure i will appreciate it once i can watch it with some subtitles. |

Im sure i will appreciate it once i can watch it with some subtitles. Well, now you understand why Hollywood remakes films from other countries. Rather than put the viewing audience through what you went through, they just convert it to something they are familiar with. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. Frankly, I almost always prefer the original to the (North) American remakes. I view the upcoming Dragon Tattoo film with deep trepidation. And for the record the only accented English that has ever given me trouble upon first listen was that of Rab C Nesbitt...but I think that had more to do with the Alchoholic slur than the Glaswegian twang. |
