| Posted: | | | | The online sales tax was signed into law a little over a week ago here in California by our illustrious Governor Gerry "Moonbeam" Brown. It went into effect on July 1st. Amazon.com is fighting the law citing it as unconstitutional and counterproductive. So far they haven't started collecting the tax here in California. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Since they are only required to collect sales tax if they have 'affiliates' in the state, they simply cut ties with the 25,000 affiliates they had in California. Since everybody knew Amazon would do this, California joins Illinois, Colorado, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Arkansas in knowingly forcing job and income loss, while generating no new tax revinue. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
