I just went to pop in the next DVD for my Sandra Bullock marathon and I seem to be having a problem with the player!

When I turn on the power I don't see any picture. I just still see the blue Video screen. after turning it off and on a few times I popped a disc in anyway. I get sound but no picture!

I checked all the connections. Everything is fine there... no loose wires or anything like that. I briefly pulled the plug (maybe 10 to 15 seconds).... plugged it back in... still the same.

I don't get it... just moments before I watched a movie on there with no trouble... looked great. And this was a movie I burned from an old recording.

I so can't afford another DVD player right now!

Anyone have any ideas?

Did you try playing the last DVD you watched to see if it still works? What make/model is your DVD player? There should be method to reset it.

I got it working... back in business!

Was very strange. One minute played beautifully. Next movie I tried to pop in (minutes later) nothing.

And what did I have to do? use a different video wire. Very strange... I never seen a wire go up in such a short period of time!

I saw something similar but it turned out to be not a bad wire but connection starting to go in the  DVD player do to heat and just having things plugged/unplugged.  If it is sometimes audio and sometimes video I would also suspect the solder joints might be starting to go on the connectors.

I will keep an eye on it... but everything seems to be working perfectly since I changed the wire.

Every piece of equipment has a limited lifespan. The way a few people here talk about their love for DVDs, I have to assume they buy players every few years or their players have been reincarnated a few times

Glad that it's working well again, though

Oh I been through my fair share of players over the years. I probably had 5 or 6 since I got my first one back in 1997.

It is handy to have a copy of Maxell Blu-ray Len Cleaner UPC 0252151921135 around to check your players.

Pete I'm glad your player is back in business..  Mine died a few months back.. so I went out and bought another $39.00 player ( for the family room) . and it is often better picture than my $400 HD player in some ways ...

Keep in mind your player may be giving you notice today that it will walk out on you eventually ....

( btw I'm still also waiting for the day to see a post here on the forums that your ''Tube TV'' ( 26inch?)  has died  and you are forced to buy an HD 42 inch LCD/plasma  ......)

.... Ooohh Let your  movies play on ........

Maybe your DVD Player didn't like your choice of movie? Just sayin'.
