| Posted: | | | | Hello, profiler geniuses! I need some help finding an animated film from the 70s or early 80s. It concerned a talking black and white cat, who had adventures in what appeared to be a French village or even Paris.
I know it's not "Gay Pur-ee", either "Fitz" movie, or a Disney film. Also, not Felix. I recall the cat being male, with a soft voice. The animation style was beautiful, and quite realistic, not at all childish or cartoony.
I'd appreciate any help. Thanks! | | | I was wise once; when I was born, I cried - Welsh proverb |

| Posted: | | | | Hmmmm I wonder if this was a film I remmeber too, was the Cat a Mouser (whisker shaped itself iinto a target when if was?), I looked up Gay Pur-ee too and even tho is sounds like it was on the right lines it did not feel right
LATERS OK after watching clips on YouTube, turns out the film I was thinking of was actually Gay Pur-ee' Oh well least means I can hopefully source the film now | | | Last edited: by dbisping |

| Posted: | | | | The cartoon style is hardly what I would call realistic but I was thinking about "Pelle Svanslös" (lit. Pelle without tail) a Swedish film from 1981, set in 1940's Uppsala. EDIT: Ok this is more like what you described, nice intro! | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 | | | Last edited: by Nexus the Sixth |

| Posted: | | | | That's it! Little more cartoony than I recall, but that is definitely the movie I was thinking of. Now, how did this film end up on U.S. televisions in the early 80s?

| Posted: | | | | Yeah that would be interesting to know, I didn't even know that it had been dubbed into English but I guess cats are universal! There's a 1985 sequel that actually takes place in America, maybe you should check that one out as well. | | | First registered: February 15, 2002 |
