| Posted: | | | | Hello all,
We all are very bothered when the cover has incorrect information. A friend of mine is working for a distributor, so I'm trying to assist him, in listing the information correctly.
Anamorphic titles are easy. It's the non-anamorphic ones that are a bit more difficult.
He has a widescreen 1.78:1 title, which is non-anamorphic.
The previous release had <b>Widescreen 1.78:1 Full Frame 4:3 compatible</b>, which is kind of a mess if you ask me.
Would any of the options below be correct?
* Widescreen 1.78:1 4:3 compatible * Widescreen 1.78:1 non-anamorphic
Other suggestions?
Thanks in advance, Chris | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Provided that the distributors mark all anamorphic titles as such, "Widescreen 1.78:1" should suffice. I'm not sure that outside of DVDProfiler-Land many people know what anamorphic means. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | "Widescreen 1.78:1" should do the trick, maybe a "(non-anamophic)" behind it. |

Silence, you may have a good point, as most people wouldn't know what anamorphic means.
We could add 16:9 enhanced for anamorphic, and 4:3 compatible for non-anamorphic. That should clear out all confusion.
Sad part appears to, be the distributor often gets incomplete info, and often receives the disks after the artwork has been completed. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Agreed. And perhaps use the word "letterbox" for non-anamorphic widescreen. |

I don't know if most people know the letterbox term over here. That's why I was thinking more of using 4:3 compatible. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

| Posted: | | | | Thanks 8ballMax, but I think they don't mean much without the accompanying text. I think I once saw a logo were 4:3 appeared inside the logo on some cover. But I can't remember which one | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

Do you mean anything like those: http://i.picoodle.com/0c6iloqs http://i.picoodle.com/4f0iloqt http://i.picoodle.com/f0diloqu http://i.picoodle.com/e64iloqv http://i.picoodle.com/91filoqw
If you need a logo (where the measurements are exact) i can draw one in autocad for you. Thanks for the offer, for this particular cover it might be to late. Not sure when it's going to the printer. But I have designed a cover myself for one of the future releases. It's 1.66:1 non-anamorphic. Can you export to EPS in Autocad. I designed the cover in Adobe Photoshop. I found DVD and Rating logo's in EPS format, which I could import and lossless resize in photoshop. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm

Yea i can export to eps. Great, you don't have to rush, but if you have some time to kill, and you want to, the logo would be very welcome. Plain white color will do. Thanks in advance | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm
