Quoting Kulju: Quote: A bit offtopic but could you tell me why you made the switch? I certainly will Well, for the most part VMWare Fusion required a paid upgrade from 3 to 4 (which was needed for Lion support) and Parallels gave me a discount for switching to them from Fusion; turned out to be the same price. this was also fuelled by Fusion being particularly slow when working with the NFS+ file system; other than that I was not particularly unhappy with it. Switching was easy. Parallels grabs the existing VM and simply transform into one of it's own. So, there is one good and one bad news about my personal experioence with this: The above mentioned file system issue is gone. I no longer have to wait when opening folders, I can use the Mac partitions just like they belonged to Windows. However, I have trouble connecting to the wireless system from Windows directly. I get internet through a shared connection, but that for DVD Profiler for iOS I need direct access to wirelsss. this issue remains currently unsolved I think it may be because I converted the existing VM. I will shortly try to install a new Windows just for Parallels and see if that changes anything. |
