| Posted: | | | | Well, with Blu-ray being the main focus from studios in terms of features, I'll say that format, though it depends on what your definition of Limited Edition is. |

| Posted: | | | | I say the phenomenon of steel books and tins is not something i buy into. Most limited edition Blu-rays are packaged in a steel book or tin, possibly cause it's much cheaper as well. While they look nice there highly susceptible to damage and being dirtied by finger prints.
It's why i favour DvD more. As most limited editions are packaged in some form of hard cardboard or plastic. Would love to own a copy of the deluxe edition of Jurassic Park and The Lost World. |

| Posted: | | | | I'm sure this will change, but for now dvd rules it.
Blu-ray just hasn't caught up or had enough LE's, and when they do it's mostly standard boxsets or tinbooks. DVD got creative, even if you hated some of them. I'm thinking about the Showgirls V.I.P. boxset, the Scarface briefcase, Basic Instinct icepack, Total Recall "Mars" tin, Big Lebowski Bolwing Ball LE. These are just the US ones. There's also the Phantasm sphere from the U.K.
The collest BD LE's I can think of are the Alien "Guardian" (pretty dope, but those Japan Alien heads for ther dvd sets are way cooler). Other ones like Batman Begins or Incredible Hulk are just the same as dvd LE's, so yeah, dvd is still winning but I expect more cool stuff to come to blu as it gets bigger, and it is getting bigger.
Last year I was one of a few who had BD in town it seems. I could get new movies from the library in no time, little wait. When dvd lines would be 200+, bd would be 10-20. Now most bd lines for new stuff at the library is 100-150. Sucks for me, great news for the format. |

I got the tin, even though yes it is far more susceptible to damage. I just love the look of it. Im looking forward to this to even though it's a steel book. I just keep it sealed. It's up for 15 quid at HMV. http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Touch-of-Evil-Blu-ray/27469/ |

For me, I can't really see the justification in paying an additional $30 for a little plastic dinosaur. I'll just stick to the regular Box Set. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Very true I only go for the full blown statue things occasionaly. They take up too much space, and are often way overpriced. I did get the Alien Egg release though. That was one I couldn't resist either. | | | View my collection at http://www.chriskepolis.be/home/dvd.htm
