| | Posted: | | | | Over the last year I have poked around the boards less and less. I am waiting for the fart jokes and poop humor to appear. The rules are rarely enforced and sometimes bad behavior practically endorsed. I see political threads from one side and no one says a thing but let it come from the other side and there is an uproar and demands the thread be closed if it is not closed within the first 10 posts. The Gaddafi murder was met with fervent jubilation which in my opinion is sick. Was a dictator, yes. Did he do horrible things, yes. Should he have had his body dragged down the street probably not. If this happened to ANY of the officials in our country there would be an uprising. I noticed there is no way to give red arrows anymore to offensive posts. I do not see a way to call a moderator. People are now openly attacking each other in the forums and there is no one stepping in. For those of you wondering what anarchy looks like, read no further our boards have achieved it. Next the lynch mobs will show up and gang up on those they dislike. There will be internet beatings and the Sim towns will burn. Everyone speaks of civility, but only when it serves to quiet their opponents opinion. Ken if you no longer care about the boards please close them, their fall from grace is reprehensible. There's been hardly any interaction from Invelos in the forum for quite some time now. And some of these threads could be ended with a simple ruling from the powers that be, but such threads are unfortunately allowed to degenerate and carry on ad infinitum. | | | | Corey |

Either this or something severe has happened. Gerri last logged in on August, 24th. And even Ken only logs in every now and then (Last visit 2 days ago). Not that this would excuse any of the things that were and are happening, but the non-presence of our supreme-rulers is currently resulting in frustration. The thread has still continued for 11 pages now. The way I see it, even if he steps in and makes a ruling it doesn't matter to those people who disagree with the decision and just want to argue. | | Posted: | | | | whilst I fully agree with some of the points made, and thast it would be very welcome if we had more invelos and moderator input, I vigorously disagree that the boards should be closed if (for whatever reason) this isn't forthcoming.
Yes, I avoid a lot more threads than I used to as they degenerate (or start off obviously headed that way) but the forums are still an absolutely vital part of being able to help other users in trouble and discuss contribution issues, and this does still happen every single day, despite some of the vulgarity going on in certain threads. | | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |

I count myself as one of those guilty of dragging the forums down to a new low and for that I sincerely apologize. I’d like to publicly apologize to samuelrichardscott for my rude behavior. It was reprehensible and uncalled for. I have no excuse other than…getting old sucks. I’m becoming a grumpy old man and I don’t like it. Perhaps it’s my medication, or the economy or the frightened, uncertain looks that I see in the faces of those around me at the supermarket checkout line. Whatever it is, I think we all feel it and it’s seeping into the forums.
We can only speculate as to the reasons why Ken and Gerri have basically abandoned the forums. Personally, I think they are not immune to what’s happening in this country and are probably struggling just as the majority of the hard-working folks here are…trying to keep their heads above water. Whatever their reasons may be, I wish them all the best.
