I see from Wikipedia that they have released a slew of Shaw Brothers pictures in the last few months including 4 more on Sept 20, with 2 more to come Nov 29th :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dragon_Dynasty_releases

However, on the Dragon Dynasty site, none of these new releases are mentioned, nor has the site been updated since 2010 :

http://www.dragondynasty.com/

Anybody know what is going on?  Is Weinstein just going ahead and using the name Dragon Dynasty to release some back-catalog they acquired from Celestial?  It looks like all of their "new" releases are very old wuxia pics, and only from China.  DD used to be great in that they released the best Martial Art flicks from across Asia (The Rebel - Vietnam, Protector - Thailand, City of Violence - Korea, etc.) but now it seems they are all old Chinese flicks, none made in the last 25 years.

Any one know?

Wondering that myself. I think the last newer title they released was The Killer

The only thing I was aware of was that they licensed a pile of Shaw Brothers titles some time ago and they are releasing them.  Since the Shaw Brothers pretty much closed up shop somewhere around '86, it's no surprise that there's nothing "new".  Personally I still welcome the titles as they've all been far and away better versions than the copies released years ago.

It seems like they have teamed up with Arc Entertainment to release their last 10 or so releases, but I haven't heard anything recently other then the Flying Guillotine movies that are coming out his month. I'd love to see them release more of their titles on Blu Ray, but they no longer have the rights to a # of titles. I've gotten tired of waiting for some of these companies to release some of these movies on Blu Ray, some I've been buying Blu Rays from Hong Kong.

Although I heard the "Police Story" Blu Rays are terrible quality for a blu ray disc, so I'll propbaly stick with the DD dvds for those.

I am not surprised that the Police Story BRs are not great quality.  I have to say for a Martial Arts fan in general, I don't think I have ever seen a Martial Arts flick which takes advantage of the format.  The image is just as grainy as it is on DVD for some of them, in fact the BR must makes it worse because the graininess is so much more clear.

I can't tell the difference between my DVD copy of The Killer and the BR release (both from DD).  As far as I can tell, they simply took the identical master and copied it to the newer format.  Battle of the Warriors is better (probably because it's a newer movie), but it is still not what you would expect from a BR release.  It looks like a good DVD to me.

In other news, I finally found "Last Hurrah for Chivalry", the DD release.  It has been available, but only for 56 bucks or more (one guy has it up on eBay for $139).  Got it from some guy who probably didn't know what he had since he only wanted 7 bones for it.  Can't wait to watch that when it gets here......

Congrats on the find. It took me awhile to find my copy also. It is well worth the effort.

I picked this up from a local store for $5. Great find. I also got "City of Violence" for $5 but wasn't a big fan of it.
