Hi,

Is there any way to de-select all updated profiles or stop from being told that updates are required?
It seems that most updates are trivial and consist mainly of added or removed birthdates or have images in which the smallest print is less legible.  I prefer the more legible images and birthdates but as I've de-selected so many "updates" it's taking a very long time to uncheck them all.
If I come across a profile that looks like it's deficient in some way I would prefer to check to see if an update was available.

It won't stop you seeing the updates but you can lock all your profiles (so you can just click OK but the system won't do any updates) and then unlock individually if you want to do a specific update.

Collection -> Flags -> Flag All
Collection -> Flagged -> Set Locks -> Entire DVD checkbox -> OK

When in the window with the update list, do de-select everyting right-click on a profile and choose "Deselect All".

If there is a profile where you don't want the update then you can choose "Skip Update" (again after doing a right-click). I don't thing there is a way to choose "Skip Update" for several/all items at the same time.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies.  I tried both and found two very workable solutions.  I don't think I fully understand Ya_shin's comment about not being able to "skip update for several/all.." as after de-selecting all I allowed changes to 2 profiles and these were the only 2 updated and Profiler was happy.  I think this is the simpler solution.

What ya_shin was refering to is that if you "skip this update" for a profile, it will not appear on the update list until something else changes. Like Voltaire, I have all my profiles completely locked and only accept updates that I want, and 'skip" any of the ones that I don't. That makes the list short next time.

Hi,

More good info.  Is there a way to blanket "skip this update " for the hundred or so updates I don't want?

Not that I am aware of. After you get through your list skipping those you don't want, then things should get easier.

This is what I meant... Like antolod I don't think there is a way to use Skip This Update for more than one profile at a time.

When I wrote my previous post I struggled at that part

If I remember right on the refresh updated profiles screen if you hold control and then right click you get the option to select skip all updated profiles.  I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for though.

If you fully lock your profiles, you might try setting the global option to "hide updates for locked profiles", available under Tools/Options/Defaults"

The checkbox is then found in the lower right hand coner of that dialog box

Profile updates aren't required, they are offered. Just don't "Refresh Updated Profiles".

For a particular profile: right click the Exclusion Button (the round icon with white hand on red background) and set "Exclude from Profile Update".
