$29.99  is a good price.  However, since DVDProfiler is no longer updated, shouldn't the price be lowered?

The update cycle of DVDP has always been rather big. 3.7 has been released one year ago. Give it another 6 months.

The main program does exactly what I want it to do...heck, it did that way back in 2001.  In addition, 90% of the titles I buy are already in the database when I add them to my collection so, while the main program hasn't been updated in a while, the Profiler database is being updated and maintained.  Because of that, in my opinion, even if there was never another update to the main program, the price is more than fair.

That being said, Ken made a post yesterday, that indicates he is working on the next version.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

[b]$29.99  is a good price.

It is,especially if you consider that it is a once-in-a-lifetime price.
I'm a registered user since 2001, so I got my value out of it multiple times.

Well, my TV-Set isn't updated any longer either, does that mean Sony should have sold it for less?

I'm so incredibly tired of all this "Invelos doesn't do this", "Invelos doesn't do that", "They just grabbed our money and now they're gone", ... and so on.

For all those that can't live with the way Invelos handles it business there is an easy (and obvious) solution: Just move on to the next product that offers better support and functionality ... Oh I forgot, this doesn't exist ...
But really: The time should have taught us all the lesson that Invelos is doing what it does at it's own speed and nothing we say or write will change anything about it.

So either you can live with it, or you can't.
No matter which conclusion is correct for you, please act consequently.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

No.  I think inflation has already taken care of that.

According to this (posted yesterday!), a new version is coming, though he writes 3.2, when I think he meant 3.8.

Amen.  I spent my $30 probably a decade ago.  Guess what?  I'm still using the program today and will for the foreseeable future.  There are many things I would like to see the program do (full customization, expansion of major fields like studios [seriously, I run into films with a half-dozen studios every day, but can only cover three], etc.], but I definitely got my $30 worth, even if I had ordered it ten days ago.

Try finding a program for the same price with a lifetime of free upgrades when they come available. I don't think you will. Personally I have gotten my moneys worth the first year, the rest is pure gravy. There are some people that would complain even if it cost $5.00 with free upgrades.
