Whitney Houston Dead

She sang one of the best versions of the nation anthem ever.
I turned of a sports station early this morning and they were playing her version of the nation anthem
and was wondering why? Then I found out. With all her success and talent she had a very troubled life.

Yeah never really liked what she sung about mostly. But she had a cracking 1 in a billion voice.

can't help to think how happy the Sponsors  will be for the Grammys tonight .. their advertising dollars they spent for viewership are and is  based on a certain amount of viewers from years past.,, Tonight that ''number'' will be blown out of the water( maybe 4 times more viewers )  .. people who have no interest in the Grammys and have never watched these awards will be watching for any and all mention of her passing..,  Those are in my words are the Only people (advertisers) who are smiling today ......

So sad indeed .. she was like a Judy Garland .., only 48,,  and again as so many other legendary singers such as Presley and Jackson..  prescription drugs will probably show her demise .....

Agreed. She sang with heart, traditionally, and as if the song and the importance of singing it mattered more than she did (as opposed to artists that try to see how many pitches they can hit on every single note or how wild that they can get to give the song a style trying to make the song as great as they are.) In fact, in almost every poll I have viewed since Aguilera's major fumble at the Super Bowl last year, the top 5 or 3 favorites are by people who sang the song in the traditional manner with Houston being almost always at #1.

She is an unforgettable icon of her time.

I just listen to her rendition of the US national anthem. Was rather impressive.
