Must be getting old as I forget the name of a black and white film from around 1949/50  about a young boy who lives with his family in New York City ( Hell's kitchen/Bronx?)  who witness's  his neighbor murder a man and then hid the body in an adjacent building scheduled for demolition.
He tells his family but no one will believe him because he is always telling tall tales ...

Great little thriller but can't remember any of the cast therefore I can't put a name on this film ..

any help??

Sounds like "The Window" from a story by Cornell Woolrich.

Both "The Window" (1949) and "Rear Window" (1954) are from stories by Cornell Woolrich. The earlier film is about a boy who witnesses a murder and fits the plot points mentioned by the original poster.

Rear Window starring James Stewart was not a young boy who told tall tales ..
But the premise has been used in dozens of movies of witnessing a murder thru a window ..through  the years.-
the last I saw recently was Mr. Brooks starring Kevin Costner ..
