It's being released through Walt Disney Studios according to Amazon.
Am I right in thinking that Disney don't tend to region code their BDs? I've pre-ordered it, hoping that it will be region free. |

That link is for Frida, the thread is for Evita Man, I always mix up those 5 letter, one word, female name title that ends with "a".  That one says regions b and c untested at this point, and is from Disney so odds are with you. Sorry about the confusion. I did see Frida in the store though, and I've never seen either film so they will probably continue to be mixed up in my head.  |

Sorry about the confusion. I did see Frida in the store though, and I've never seen either film so they will probably continue to be mixed up in my head. Another obvious confusion would be that Disney has been shipping off most of its Miramax, Dimension and Hollywood Pictures products to Lionsgate and Echo Bridge. Evita, however, is being released as a Disney catalog title (which is extremely weird, since they dumped most of their high-profile titles, including several Academy Award winners). |

Actually, no. It's illegal to break copyright protection,, even if the copying itself would be legal. At least, this is the law in the US. Not sure about the UK. This isn't enforced though. Same in the UK. Legal to have a back-up of something you own, but illegal to break the copy protection. Not enforced though, as you say. The companies are probably more worried about the massive amount of people illegally downloading without ever paying for anything at all. |
