Anyone seen this show, and is it Alias look a like? | | | "What's God?" "You know when you want something really bad and you wish for it?, God's the guy that ignores you" -The Island, Steve Buscemi |

| Posted: | | | | I watched the whole first season (the second season is already over).
But I wasn't too fond of the show. I wanted to like it because I liked the actress from Coyote Ugly.
But in the end it was just mediocre for my taste.
It's not like Alias. Alias had the advantage of having Bristow being a double agent and thus something to play off the other characters.
On Covert Affairs she's just a regular agent and her family (her sister is played by House's Cutthroat Bitch) hasn't that much screen time.
That being said, I'm normally rather fond of USA Network shows: White Collar, Suits, Burn Notice & Common Law which all have a special recipe to their standard plots (WC: con artist works for the FBI; Suits: not-really-a-lawyer works as a lawyer; BN: former spy works as P.I., CL: two male cops have to go to couple's counseling).
If CA has such a twist, I've forgotten it. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | I never watched Alias, but I do watch Covert Affairs and can tell you it is not a comedy. It is a drama centering on a female CIA agent. Season 3 is about to start, here in the states, and I am looking forward to it as I really liked seasons 1 and 2. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Spoiler: (Select to view)Wasn't the premise of Covert Affairs how she became involved with the CIA and that she had been hiding it from her sister? My memory ain't what it used to be! | | | Signature banned: Reason out of date... | | | Last edited: by NewEnglander |

Those issues were resolved and caused new issues. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
